This is somewhat of an extension of the "natural hair thread" but geared towards chilrens hair. I have 1 girl and Im limited with what I can do because I suck at doing hair, but its a fun learning process. Feel free to share any pictures of your children's hairstyles and hair care routines.

Get inspiration and encourage others.

Ill start with some of our most recent hair styles.

1. Heart Part..

2. A little Memorial Day hair

3. A quick thick braid with some large beads.

4. Slightly smaller braids with beads..

Same.. Braid and twist..

I want to do the bantu knots but havent even looked to see how to do them. They seem simple enough.

Very easy.....

1. Do twists

2. hold the root of her twist with one hand

3. Use the other hand to wrap the twist around the root.

I do this some nights, takes me like 45 mins.

Attempting a twist-out.. Because the bantu knot idea was a major FAIL angry

There is nothing holding the twists in so Ill be lucky if they last until morning

^^ Yay! I stayed up late last night searching how to do yarn twists.. I may attempt that one day soon cos my daughter keeps begging me for "hair like that" when she sees them. If only she requested things within my shoddy skills.

She is still rocking the twists from up there... Im shocked they stayed in her hair with nothing to hold them in. Ill un-do them in a day or two.. She is loving them right now.

Please do try it and let me know how it goes. I have never done yarn twists...ever. In fact the only twists i do are two strand lmao. And bantu knots if you consider them as a form of twists. tongue

If you dont mind my asking, where did you learn to do braids/twists? Youre very good at what you...from what i see. smiley

The twists ^^^^^^ made it longer than I even thought possible. I seriously thought they wouldnt even make it to the following morning, but 2 days later and they were still going strong.. but looked rough.. So I took them out today. Despite being frizzy, they were super cute. They reminded me of dreads (love!) but they made her look boy-ish.

This style is about 1 week old now compliments of daddy.

Its flat braided then twisted ends along the back and then box twists at the front. Its a cute little fuzzy fauxhawk grin

She hasn't been sleeping in a cap or on a pillow and frankly I dont even care right now.
