C'mon, it's the country with all the lions, giraffes and hippopotamuses. Where people live in huts and their clothes are made from banana leaves. Don't you watch National Geographic? smiley

such a country doesn't exist on the map.

I know of countries like Kenya, Zimbabwe, etc. that have these features that you described, bu I havent heard of this "Africa" country.

Kenya is a state in East Africa. Africa is a continent, just like America. Surely you know this.

I know you are being sarcastic but this is in fact what Africa is portrayed as. Can you post pictures of what your city looks like, home, etc?

Is Cape Town a nice place to live?

Africa is a continent, be specific which country you want to learn about. Cape Town is in South Africa, and is not safe for human.

I dont have a specific country. Which countries are nice to live in? What is Nigeria like? Is there alot of poverty? What would it be like for an African American wanting to move there? Will they be accepted?

You even have time to respond to her. Most Americans are so blatantly ignorant of world geography that it makes you wonder what they are taught in high school. A group of people who cannot differentiate between a continent and a country, a city and a state within a country and so on and they are not ashamed of themselves considering USA is a so-called advanced nation. I can't even begin to tell you all the stupid obnoxious questions the average American asks me about Africa. The most annoying part of it is that, the internet is easily accessible in the USA and yet most of her citizens cannot even use it to acquire information about various nations of the world.

Ignorance is not cute!

True, I agree, the thread title was annoying itself before I started reading the comments, sometimes you feel you have to correct people who think Africa is a country or tarzan jungle land, because sadly people who stumble upon this thread that are American like her will believe what she said is correct when we have the internet today as you said to give correct info. Sometimes you can't help it but correct them because I am noticing this with people from America particularly on lack of knowledge on common sense things, the ignorance is baffling.

@Bolded

No, we do not accept ignorant people from other nations who have been successfully brain washed by the white media and think the worse of us. It's like me asking you what is black America like? How is life like in the predominately black ghettos/the hood and projects there in USA? Why do black American men like engaging in severe animal cruelty like dog (Pitt bull) fighting which is a felony in all 50 states of the USA? Are your men not taught animal compassion by their parents or single mums while they were growing up? As a canine enthusiast and animal rights activist, animal cruelty disgusts me.

Why do many black Americans love having babies out of wedlock like its something to be proud of bringing bastard children into this wicked world? Why is teenage pregnancy so rampant in the black community in the USA? Why are there so many black high school dropouts? Why are so many Americans - especially the black ones - addicted to crack cocaine and other forms of illegal drugs?

Anyways, I know you get my drift. I lived and worked in the USA for over 13 years (went to college there too) so I know that country of yours in and out though I am back home now serving my nation. As much as I am not against foreigners moving to Nigeria, I am totally against IGNORANT foreigners moving to Nigeria. I just cannot imagine being bombarded with obnoxious questions about Africa in my homeland by an American yet again after all the useless questions I was asked about my country when I lived in the USA. If you are not an open minded person and don't know enough about Africa and her people, I strongly suggest you stay back in your home country of USA.

You can say whatever you wish about the technicalities of my statement. There are many people who wonder what life is like in Africa as a whole or each individual country. Yes i couldve googled it, but i thought i ask on here. If someone wanted to know what life was like in America, I surely wouldnt be responded about something as petty as verb noun agreement. Thank you

By "state" she probably meant "country," not "province." The word state has multiple meanings. I don't know why some people go looking for fights/arguments where there are none.

Africa is very big.

You have countries that are near the ocean, those that are landlocked, those in the desert, the forest, those that have arabs, berbers, blacks, somalis, ethiopians,, different weather, seasons, climate etc.

Some countries have war, famine, hiv epidemic, prostitution, xenophopia (south africa)

so their is no one way to describe it.

i HAVE recently read that west africa has overtaken somalia in the number of reported piracy,

i didnt know blacks could swim cheesy

You seem really angry. You bring up many good questions about the morals and values of some Americans. However this is a free country so people are entitled to make their own choices in life. Im not asking what PEOPLE are like in Africa, Im asking what is LIFE like. It seems that many are offended by this question but if I had the money to travel and see for myself then I would do so. Thank you for your comment.

Africans and African Americans are the same people. If you want to understand what life is like in africa just imagine black Americans without the government safety umbrella.

As far as having children out of wedlock we have that do, only in Africa there is no well-fare so the mothers use village abortion.

As far as promoscuity and degeneracy we have that too. From the "runs girls" who bleep their professors, to the sex parties at universities to the students who do lesbic experimentation in their hostels. But we cover it with the "bloooood of jeeezos!"

If you want to talk of animal cruelty, an African slaughterhouse will put Mike Vick to shame.

We love chicken, we love to get drunk and we looooove to Bleep, just like yall

.......But besides all that, us Africans have a have a rock solid family tradition, and some of the richest culture in the world. wink
