What is Christianity? Who is a Christian? and when is someone called a christian? Many have said that Christianity is a religion. How true is this statement? Please post your honest views as what you say here will go along way to affect others mostly if they are not christians. Thanks |

first, i must clarify that christianity is not a religion. Many have taught that it is one but its not. Jesus never said he came to create a religion. John 10:10. Religion is man seeking God; christianity is God seeking man. Gen 3. Thats why God was the one that initiated the salvation process by sending Jesus to die for us. Christianity is the father to son/daughter relationship that exist between God and man via the work of Christ. A christian is one who has accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior. Study the word and you'd learn more than what any human can teach. |

Of course christianity is a religion. So what is wrong with a religion? What is so shameful about the word religion that "christians" are shying away from all associations with it?? "christians" now care more of how the world percieves and labels them than about the truth of their belief systems. Nobody wants to be associated with the word religion because the think it puts them in the same light as other "false" religions. False christians. Shameful. |

Christianity is a religion... James 1:27 King James Version (KJV) 27 Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world. It is impractical to be a Christian and not practice religion. Whether from the perspective of sacred scriptures or the every day dictionary use of the word 'religion' Christianity is indeed a religion. |

Religion is an organized collection of beliefs, cultural systems, and world views that relate humanity to the supernatural, and to spirituality...(Wikipedia) So how does christianity not fall into this definition?? mtchewww!!! |
