IMHO as much as one desires, so long as they can afford it (and if they cant afford it, they just should save for it). sadly, i know many who spend thousands of €€€s on fashion and yet have no place to live or cant scrap 3 square meals per day......but yet, they are the most elegant people out there. let each live their own fairytale lives, so long as they know that they will have to wake up someday.

to each their own priorities!

Depends on taste, affordability and priority
It's a good idea to buy the best you can afford and don't be a slave to trends that quickly trickle off
Buy good quality, classic styles that will stand the test of fashion time and don't invest too much in poor quality stuff that does not last
One good pair of good quality jeans is better than having several cheap pairs of jeans in multiple colors

As for percentage? I really couldn't say. I can go months without buying anything and buy a lot within a couple of weeks however I make sure money for other priorities is still available and I do not recommend going into debt for the aquisition of clothing

^^^okay you guys have said everything I wanted to say! it is possible to dress well without having to empty your account. for one you can buy a few clothes but what matters is how you combine them to regularly create a different yet cool look each time.

it all boils down to
1) what you can afford
2) what you like
3) how much compromise you can reach between what you like and what you can afford

there is no size that fits all when talking about fashion expenditure.
