RNW created this infographic for the occasion of 'Ending corruption: What can Naija youth do?' (#EC4NY), a student debate being held by the Africa Desk today (26th June, 2013) at the University of Ibadan in Nigeria.
Based on data from the NGO Transparency International, the image is meant to reflect in how far various Nigerian institutions are perceived by the public as being most affected by corruption – defined as “the abuse of entrusted power for private gain” by the NGO.

For a decade now, the Transparency International has been asking people about their everyday experiences of perceived corruption. The results are tallied in the Global Corruption Barometer, which, according to Transparency International, is “the only worldwide public opinion survey on corruption”.
