Acidosis: Yes we are happy people..

I don't think I have the time to break it down for all to understand..

Our happiness comes from the fact that we are 'religious'..

Correct! u nailed it boss...we are too religious yet crime rate no dey decrease...hw can we be happy when thousands cannot afford three square meals a day, when our roads are death traps, when there is insecurity of lives n ppties, when we cannot live harmoniously with each other, when there is huge gap btw d rich n d poor, when d rich r praised for stealing billions n the poor imprisoned for stealing maggi...the list is endless...the fact that we laugh often doesn't make us happy people....smh

Nigerians are being oppressed by bad leaders, bad facilities.. and the worst thing, there is really no hope for the country at the moment... and we're discussing about being happy..... I just don't understand how people can be sastisfied with the way things are........

Nigerians have the potential to be the happiest group of people.....at present, that happiness hasn't taken us anywhere and won't taking us no where....keep smiling and hope that things will turn for the better, smiles will stop corruption and provide you with jobs..

And if you say we are happy because of our religion.. there is a season for everything, and right now is not the time to be happy

Happiness is a personal affairs which most atimes are determine by state of mind. Things that keep one happy most often are beyond human understanding depending what the person belief. For many of us that trust in God; nothing on earth can keep you happy unless you have peace in our Lord Jesus because He is the Prince of Peace and through Him cometh everlasting Happiness.

Most Nigerians have passive nature towards the plight we are facing in this country. We like to live in 'fool's paradise'. If Nigerians were actually the happiest people on earth, why do we see such high level of unemployment among the youths, corruption, crime, etc? Are we really happy? Instead waking up to the reality that things are not really right, we try to fake happiness. Why not go to Ilorin and ask Olaniyi or go to Warri and ask Oghenekaro that have not eaten since yesterday if they are truly happy? Some nairaland girls just come here to say trash because a stupid dude somewhere bought them Brazilian hair. Nansense!!!

when you don't know how things are meant to be or you're not aware of how easy life can be or should be... we tend to get used to the current situation of things good or bad...

or in simpler terms..... a simple explanation..... there was a time we had black and white televisions and yh, we were happy with those, very happy(at that moment)... then came the colored tvs with a better viewing experience..... if you return to watching the black and white after the colored...what you feel now, will be a certain dissatisfaction....

Re: Are Nigerians Actually Happy People - Myth Or Fact by Nobody: 11:04pm On Jul 01, 2013
Yes, we are a happy people. Infact my white friends keep asking me why most blacks are always enthutiastic even when there are no reasons to be.

Nigerians have a lot of faith and this is not about religion; the typical Nigerian person is the eternal optimist always believing that things can and will get better.

A Nigerian is a go-getter, and makes the best out of every opportunity that comes knocking. When there’s a will, there’s a way; and where there’s a way, there’s a Nigerian. Leave a Nigerian in the desert and he will find a way home.

Nigerians are very resilient people. We never give up easily; we always find a way to keep going forward. No power supply, and we get a generator; no public water supply and we dig a borehole. We are the ultimate ‘Can-do’ nation in the world.

The ‘hustle’ – We love our hustle, we get education, get jobs or get a business going on. Nigeria has taught me respect for hard work and love for excellence. The culture expects greatness from you.

The ‘survivor-mentality’ is hard-wired into the DNA of Nigerians. It is not by mistake that Nigeria is regarded as one of the “happiest” countries in the world, despite its challenging economic and social conditions.

Tenacity in the blood of Nigerians to strive no matter the hardship they face. We have a spirit that refuses to be broken. We are always ready to face the odds and find a way round them.

Nigerians are resilient. Push them to the wall, and instead of them to turn back and fight, they’ll break down the wall and keep running.

Nigerians are naturally adaptive; give them a lemon, they make lemonade.
