Breaking news reports suggest Rivers State House of Assembly speaker has been impeached while 15 other members have been suspended. Now, what is outrageous and as a matter of fact, disgusting is that this seems to have been carried out by less than the required majority.

This is not happening for the first time in Nigeria, but must we go down this road again? When do we declare we've had enough of this?

There are 32 lawmakers in Rivers, 27 including the Speaker have been supporting Governor Amaechi. According to reports coming from the state, 15 of the 27 lawmakers on Gov Amaechi's side have been suspended, including the Majority leader.

Let's assume some lawmakers decided to back track and dance to Abuja tunes, that would give Governor Amaechi AT LEAST 15 suspended lawmakers plus the Speaker, making 16. And Abuja people will also have 16 on their side.

The question is, how can the 16 on Abuja's side decide to suspend the other 16 on Governor Amaechi's side? And How can the 16 Team Abuja members impeach the speaker against the 16 others?

By the way, the 'New Speaker' is Evans-Bipi - remember first lady Patience Jonathan's brother who got married last month? The one on whose account Madam Bad attitude shut down the whole city for days? - Yes, he's the new speaker.

If Jonathan is truly President, couldn't he have secured a legitimate majority to actualize his schemes?
