Torque Information Technologies provides IT support services to firms in Nigeria and Ghana. We are currently looking to employ the services of competent engineers to serve as desktop support engineers to our client in the telecoms industry.

Outline of Job
• Provides operational support for the Global Desktop (CGD) PCs throughout Africa
• Delivers that support following all applicable processes and within the CBS IT Service Level Agreement (SLA)
• Provides hands on support for other CBS-IT services as directed (services listed below)
• Reports to the CBS-IT Service Support Manager
Responsibilities
o Application Hosting (including Legacy Application Hosting)
o Collaboration
o Hardcopy Output Services
o Local Area Network
o Storage and Backup
o Telephony (fixed, VOIP and mobile)
o Wide Area Network

• Tasks include but are not limited to the following:
o Supports adds moves and changes to IT infrastructure following laid down processes

o Set up of CGD equipment for new starters
o Assist in installation/setup of servers, LAN infrastructure, WAN infrastructure etc
o Provides first escalation point for all CBS-IT services in Africa and handles or escalates all issues
o Solves day to day issues and performs root cause analysis of common/major problems

o Assist remote support teams through physical device support for preparation of Windows and UNIX servers
o Assist remote support teams with physical support for Operating Systems, Networking, Telecoms and backup/restore operations


Required Qualifications
• Matric/Grade 12, A+, N+ or equivalent
• An IT related qualification/certification
Skills and Experience Required
• Demonstrable technical skills acquired in an IT service delivery environment
• Problem solving/root causing skills
• Ability to be multi focussed
• Knowledge of common concepts, practices, procedures, technologies and tools used within an IT organisation
• Windows XP, 7, Office - experience essential
• Windows 2003/2008 server – experience preferable
• Knowledge of Lotus Notes
• High integrity and customer focus
