You should have a little ceremony in church is your fiancee's happiness matters to you. If your parents don't want to assist to it, that's their business.

by your question, my take is, by the story we read in the Holy book, it was tradditional marriage and not church wedding, you can draw its significant from the 1st miracle Christ performed.
