*TEXT: 2 KINGS 5: 1-14*

*"KEY VERSE:  And she said unto her mistress, Would God my lord were with the prophet that is in Samaria! for he would recover him of his leprosy. (2 Kings 5:3 )"*

God once instructed the elders  of the nation of Israel to relate the history of their relationship with Him to their little ones. "Then thou shalt say unto thy son, We were Pharaoh's bondmen in Egypt; and the Lord brought us out of Egypt with a mighty hand: And the LORD shewed signs and wonders, great and sore upon Egypt, Upon Pharaoh and upon all his household before our eyes" (Deuteronomy 6:21,22). This was to be ingrained in them so they can also tell others.
Naaman's recovery from the scourge of leprosy is a result of the simple testimony of a little girl. She had been taken captive by Syrian forces from the land of Israel. Held somewhat like a prisoner of war, she now waited on the wife of the Syrian general. Back in Israel, she had closely observed the mighty power of healing, signs and wonders which God deposited in his servant Elisha. Promptly, she witnessed to the unfailing power of God to her mistress. The military chief did and was healed.
The miracle resulted from the simple action of a maid who spoke about the mighty works of God she witnessed back home in Israel. She told the story of God's love to the afflicted which led Naaman to eventually know the true God (2 Kings 5:18).
Believers are challenged to follow the footsteps of the little girl by telling the world of the great and immeasurable wonders of the Cross and bring the tormented sinner to Jesus Christ for salvation, healing and delieverance. It is a sacred duty we cannot shun without attracting His frown. Yet, it is a timeless duty we must undertake for our greatest good in time and eternity.
*THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: The gospel without the preacher is like a ship without a rudder.*
