jonath0012: Outside school environment, I've met a number of OAU graduates, and they are not as academically good as you guys hype it here. Unilorin grads often show a high level of competence in their subject area than OAU graduates. However, in term of activism, i give it to OAU; they are unparalleled.
You've met...? who are you?

Stevosty: Look at the grammar of those purportedly from OAU, they obviously don't know what webometrics is all about.

jmoore: Don't be deceived by webometrics, it has nothing to do with academic excellence.

"webometrics is a directory of world universities ranked according to their presence on the Web"

TRUE talk, even from the name "Webometrics" translating as standard of measurement of world universities based on their web ranking, comprising how good their web design, how interactive is the website, how updated it is compared to it's counterparts. But OAU is still a school to reckon with in Nigeria, but I don't know for Africa.

The Cybermetrics Lab is a research group of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC). The organization is responsible for editing the Webometrics Ranking of World Universities. Currently more than 48,000 web domains of academic and research organizations are analyzed and are ranked according to their web presence and link visibility.
Simple!
Moreover I would like to see the real standing of Nigeria Universities.
As for all these private universities that graduate more than half of thier students as first class uppers, mtchewww!! shocked cool shocked God is watching you grin
