There'll be. Nature operates in cycles. The religious call it revivals. They'll be a minority again and a few may try to fight back once again. As long as man remains ignorant, the God idea will always be present.

Yes [people still use typewriters today. But there is not going to be a renaissance

will man remain ignorant forever? It will only take some time man, but once it happens there'll be no going back. No reason to...

we may not know all things but we will know enough to know that all the religious gods are myths, merely to be relegated to museums...

Agreed.

what happened once God began to be kicked out? You guys don't know world history. And to blame just religion(especially what you call christianity) for naijas problems is unbecoming and sorry to say, idiotic. Before you start raining insults and baseless arguments, read the bible and see what Jesus teaches, see if you can speak against his standards. Stop wallowing in ignorance. What a twisted article.

unluckily for you, we can influence the future through prayers. Watch carefully. The revival will burst and be sustained till the end.

Your prayers couldnt save Nigeria.....prayers wont save christianity from the impending doom/demise it will face in Europe and America

Mr Troll: grin Maybe you look guilty while saying it. Just say it like its the most natural thing.
Recently, i met one catholic girl and the question came up after the 3rd date though nothing don happen yet wink after i gave her the answer, she was like "hmmm, that means i'll stop taking to you o" and i'm like "ok." After about 30secs of awkward silence she just started talking again and the rest was history. . .
Don't feel compelled to proffer any explanation whatsoever. Goodluck next timewink

Nah. I dont look guilty neither do I feel compelled to do anything at all. Its just my ill luck that everyone wants to "save" me.

Evil Brain:

This is why I can't stand born again chicks. They can be so annoying with their constant preaching and nagging. Most born again guys will leave you alone if you make it clear you're not interested, but some girls just refuse to take the hint.

"But you're such a nice guy, I have to save your soul from hell fire whether you like it or not!" I've had to turn nasty a few times to get some of the crazier ones off my back.

Yup. This is more like it.

Whats up Pastafarian?

That is like saying that if typewriters die out giving chance to computers, there will be a renaissance.

Religion (Abrahamic ones especially) is an obsolete way of thinking about the universe and morality. Once left, there is no going back

Exactly the point. The features of typewriters find their place as the keyboard in computers. Not to mention how things like EMP bombs could, in theory, cause a reversion to typewriters.

Depends on how you look at it. I'd say there are loads of details in the past and present man is ignorant about. Funny how we talk of ignorance as one when it involves not many stuff.

You're on the pathway to Anonyism. Anything to win the argument at all costs.

You are indirectly agreeing that religion is obsolete and it would take destruction/regression to bring it back

Just stumbled on this thread, & i must say, it's pretty interesting.

Nigeria has a theistic foundation, so to speak, to the extent that you can't hold a public office as an atheist. Worse still, discrimination is almost certain if you openly declare your 'un-believer' status, same you'll get as an indigenous believer. It's sickening & annoying to say the least.

A few weeks back, my mom called from Nigeria, and in her usual fashion, asked whether I had eventually "found a church" (she's been asking this same question for the past 3 years now). As usual, my response was 'No'. Usually, she would just sigh and encourage me to keep reading my bible and pray fervently. However, this time, she was genuinely worried. She then asked, "Are there really no churches there? Or is it a Muslim country?"

In her mind, it's either Christianity or Islam. I'm 100% sure she has never heard the word "atheist" in her entire almost 6 decades of existence.

I remember the first time we visited China me and my mum. . .It was very funny. . .She was suprised when she lernt most of them were not even christians or muslims. . .Those are the only religions she thought existed in the world. . .It was so funny. . .

I've met a lady who asked me, "are you a christian?" No. "Muslim?" No. She then concluded that I was a pagan. I asked her, "are there only 2 religions in the world?" She confidently answered Yes!. I gave up grin

You get my point.

One will feel no less than a terrorist by the reaction he gets for declaring his religious belief. That's why I was suprised to read that Nigerians are asking questions now, getting wiser & becoming atheists. I just don't see it
