@REHOZIBH..You should endeavour to get your facts right before commenting on issues in public....El Rufai is being prosecuted by the EFCC & not by the ICPC....Moreso the fact that the trial has staggered in court for upwards of 4 years cannot be attributed at all to the dearth of evidence but rather to the systemic deficiencies in our trial procedures governed by laws enacted since the 1940s that the El Rufai's defense team have exploited to stall his trial thus far at his behest & advantage 1 Like |

tatosh: Jonathan himself is a product of corruption and he has proven to us time and again that it is ok to steal from government with impunity. Those who are in support of jonathan is either based on ethnic sentiments or they're being paid. Did corruption start in GEJ's regime? Why are we grossly hypocritical? Was Nigeria a blessed state before Jonathan came to power? Was El-Rufai not a beneficiary of a corrupt government? Who owns LCC? Did Fash really use 1Bn Naira to construct a 10km road? PDP is corrupt, but its shocking that the people who contributed to make it so have cross-carpeted and are acting as if they're saints. If people want to be blind, fine by them. He without sin should cast the first stone. And he with sins should confess them and seek forgiveness first before castigating his fellow sinner. 2 Likes |

El rufai, were you not an oil thief during obj's regime. Why didn't you single out yourself. What did you do when obj instructed you to demolish houses built with money acquired with honest means. Why did you not start with oil thieves houses. Demolision minister, tell us your cabal and we will know the oil thives. As small as you are you cannot respect GEJ. Short engine 1 Like |

@miguel: Did Jonathan camp condemn Asari Dokubo when he (a) threatened to make this country ungovernable if Jonathan does not win 2015? (b) declared that that they will match the North bullet for bullet (c) warned that the core North will never rule again! Is that not an ethnic call? Should a FEDERAL Government not call him to order? If a Northerner said such, it would be right to call for his arrest, why would it be wrong to caution Asari BTW - this is what the governor of Bayelsa said

From the reactions so far most of what I see here are attacks on the messenger so as to deflect from the message El Rufai only gave voice in public to what many Nigerians have known in private;thay the Ijaws are pursuing an underground secessionist agenda with the proceeds of stolen oil wealth. That and the inability of Ebele Jonathan to rise above provincial ethnic leadership as the presidenytis the main points he raised. That is what we should discuss instead of attacking him a a person 1 Like |

taharqa: Actuali, Oil theft has been reducing SIGNIFICANTLY in d last few mouths. Data from Reuters indicates that Nigeria's September Oil Future's Export is 1.94mpbd (and this is not even including d Crude used incountry and of course d few hundreds of barrel of Condensate Equivalents that wud also be exported). This wud esp be d case as d problematic Nembe Trunk Line which has been shut down for months now wud be reopened by Shell this week. Know what you are talking about b4 opening that mouth in public, plz...... @topic, sorry: I try not to comment on stuffs related to characters like Elrufai... Meeting OPEC quota has no bearing on amount of oil being stolen in the Nigerian context. Oil theft has reached UNPRECEDENTED LEVELS during this GEJ presidency, despite the untold billions expended in payments to the ex-millitants in pipeline security contracts. If anything, the bunkerers have even grown more powerful and secure in this presidency. Please refrain from resorting to cheap lies. 2 Likes |

Except you don't live in Nigeria, dats when I expect you to be gullible enough to validate the fake stats we see. Is it not the same data that says Nigerian economy is growing and yet it doesn't seem like it in reality considering the state of the nation? Adrenaline123: Whenever someone is at the top, even if he is doing well politically, legally, infrastructurally, economically, PEOPLE MUST CRITICIZE AND CASTIGATE. How can you expect jonathan to undo all the wrong doings which originated more than 35yrs ago and has eaten deep into the fabric of its existence within 3 years. He has really proved he is capable of 'Undoing' all the wrongs by granting presidential pardon to a top political thief within 3 years. |

Revenue from oil proceeds has been stolen since 1970's boom by government officials. I don't understand this issue of oil theft. If the government can be sincere about the revenue its getting from the remains after theft, Nigerians can really care about these hullabaloo. The Niger Deltans are helping themselves to their God-given resources, since those it is entrusted into their hands steal officially. With the level of neglect and underdevelopment in the Niger Delta where billions are drilled from their back yards daily, only fools will seat down and watch the creation of another man called a country deprive him of the good of their land. As the president, GEJ should have intelligence reports others don't have. If he knows, I will not be surprised. |
