THE Initiative for Youth Awareness on Migration, Immigration, Development and Re-integration, IYAMIDR, yesterday, raised alarm that over 300 Nigerian girls are languishing in different prisons in Libya.

It called on the Federal Government to exploit the bilateral pact with the Libyan Government to secure their release.

President of IYAMIDR, Solomon Okoduwa, who briefed newsmen in Benin City, Edo State on the hardship faced by Nigerians in Libya since the war in that country, thanked the Founder of All Nation for Christ Synagogue, Pastor T.B Joshua for assisting hundreds of returnees with cash as rehabilitation packages, noting the need for the Federal Government to intervene.

Okoduwa, who fled Libya during the 2011 uprising, said that the Nigerian girls in Libyan prisons were being asked to pay between $400 and $600 through agents believed to be working for the Libyan authorities before they can secure their release.

He urged the Federal Government to review her foreign policy with a view to ensuring adequate protection of Nigerian Citizens in the Diaspora.

According to him, “government should as a matter of urgency expedite action by coming to the aide of her citizen, who are willing to return to the country. Apart from the girls, who are being raped every day, we have 700 other Nigerians held by the Libyan maximum prison in the City of Tripoli while others are in Sabha, and Gharian prison situated about 50kilometers from the City of Tripoli.”

He noted that in order to discourage Nigerian youths from traveling illegally to foreign countries, Okoduwa said the group had acquired 17.666 hectares of Oil Palm land located in Ugbogui community in Ovia South West Local Government Area of Edo State and appealed to government to assist in ensuring that the youths were equipped with the needed agricultural tools.

During the slave trade era a prominent Bini Oba banned the sale of any Bini into slavery but was an active slaver himself.

Today nemesis has caught up with the Bini people as they now willingly sell their owns elves and daughters into the most debased form of modern slavery.

The Igbos suffered heavily during slavery as many were sold of by the likes of that Oba now today their children are selling themselves into slavery.

The fulanis have attacked their hosts in Jos and Benue. The Yorubas are already betraying themselves and the northerners are demanding power shift.

Nemesis . Ain't that a b1tch

I have worked in Benin back in the early 2000's and there are no victims involved and there is no such thing as innocent trafficking victims.

These girls want to do ashewo work in Italy and Spain even before they finish high school. Their parents want them to and will even sell, their properties ti have these girls turn tricks in truck stops with Turkish drivers. I was in the bank one day and one particular lady in her 50's was singing in her local dialect and happily waving dollars she just collected from the western union desk. She was saying in pidgin that we should all see what her daughter sent her from obodo oyinbo.
From that day I vow never to have any thing to do with Bini women.

As a Bini woman, I am deeply hurt and horrified when I hear stories about my people.

Most of these young ladies ( as young as 13) where pushed in by thier own mothers, aunties and close relatives.
Even some married women are shipped out by thier husbands.

Total shame!

What happened to my beloved culturally preserved Bini girl?
What happened to honest work and honest pay?
What happened to getting education?
What happened to getting married?
What happened to rearing children?

Bini women have lost their ways because of dollars.
We have lost our ways to GREED.

Enough is ENough.

It is time the Bini pick up their act and behave like dignified tribespeople. This is a shame.

If there are any Bini here, it is time you do something to save the blackening of your own peoples name.

Start Awareness Camps and spread the word. Do something. ANything. angry

Lol. Must have been a bewildering spectacle. Then again, don't generalise man.

I know one or two lovely bini chicks, and they bring me so much joy. They are certainly here in Nigeria as I am, so I guess not all of them are interested in Obodo Oyibo adventures.

300 nigerian girls in libyan prison - yet, nigeria must have an ambassador in that country doing nothing to effect the release of these innocent girls. many of them were promised jobs, good education and better opportunities abroad by wicked relatives.

What an irony!

The self-acclaimed Mother of the Nation, the Jesus Christ of Bipi, and Rotimi Amaechi's imposed Mother, Mrs Patience Jonathan, yesterday celebrated a women jamboree which she tagged ‘Celebrating Nigerian Women for Peace and Empowerment’on which several millions must have been spent; whereas this Mother has been quiet about the plight of:

Nigerian females languishing in detention in foreign lands;
the Nigerian child bride;
child trafficking in the country.

There is neither peace nor empowerment for these hapless women!

Nigeria!
