INTRODUCTION:
Adultery (Latin adulterium) describes or refers to sexual intercourse between a married person and someone other than the spouse. It is usually voluntary and unlawful. This is the seventh commandment as given in Exodus 20:14, “thou shall not commit adultery”.
Nevertheless, this unholy union, unlawful exercise of sexual appetite and sin has been committed throughout history.
Nigeria is one of the major countries in the world where the consummation of the act of adultery has gone overboard, being blown about by the wind carrying the news. On a scale of 1-100, the level of decadence could be conservatively be put at 35, which translates into a major disaster as the potentiality for escalation could spell doom as marital sanity and matrimony will be taken to the cleaners.
Globally, one can ask, “How prevalent is adultery?” The Janus Report on Sexual Behavior estimates that more than one-third of men and one-quarter of women admit having had at least one extramarital sexual experience”. Another survey by the National Opinion Research Centre (University of Chicago) found lower percentages: 25 percent of men had been unfaithful and 17 percent of women. Even when these lower ratios are applied to existing population structure of adults, one would find over 25 million husbands and 14 million wives have had a sexual stint at defiling their matrimonial vows.
A family therapist and psychiatrist Frank Pittman believes “there may be as many acts of infidelity in our society as there is traffic accidents”. He infers that the rampant involvement in adultery has altered society’s perception of its gravity.
We can say that this problem is not with Christians since moral standards of Christians are higher. But today there is growing evidence that adultery is also a problem in Christian circles. An article in a 1997 issue of News Week Magazine noted that various surveys suggests that as many as 30 percent of male protestants ministers have had canal knowledge with women other than their wives. Cases of accusations and counter accusations on the platform of adultery now pervade the Church.
On another platform, we have the sin of fornication occasioned by sexual intimacy between two unmarried persons. The human society has absorbed this practice as a normal and acceptable way of life. It will be difficult to be controlled since the world have adapted and stamped it as an agreeable aspect of society. In the name of St. Valentine’s Day, a flagrant display of pleasures and consumption of sexual appetite by the young ones seem to have received local and international approval.
But really, Adultery and Fornication is morally the most hideous crime that a person can commit. The one who commits it in fact has proven that his humanity has been overwhelmed by his animalist and that he is not capable to live as a virtuous member of human society. Fornication remains an illicit intercourse outside wedlock.

CAN THE TRULY SAVED COMMIT SINS AS ADULTERY AND FORNICATION
Truly several persons can indeed fall prey to such sins. A good example is King David. He was truly saved and yet committed the grievous sins of adultery (2 Samuel 11:6-17). Because of his sins God sent Nathan the prophet to rebuke David and he repented (2 Samuel 12:1-13). Nathan told David that the Lord had taken away his sin, but that there would still be negative consequences for it (2 Samuel 12:13-14).
The consequences were grievous indeed and almost cost David his throne and life. The pollution on account of that single act of adultery cast a veil of confusion on the kingship of David.
Today, many unfocused Christians are carried away by world processes and procedures, acceptances and morns of society. Christians are now more entrenched in the world, loving it and contributing even to the factors of decadence.
But the Lord himself had cautioned: “Stop loving this world and all that it offers you, for when you love the world, you show that you do not have the love of the Father in you. For the world offers only the lust for physical pleasure. (1 John 2:15-16).
All through the scripture, God had always made his position clear on issues pertaining to adultery and fornication. God has always shown his anger and rejection on this matter. He promulgated a law (or even a decree) and spoke continuously through his servants, so much so that death by stoning was the only method of punishment matted out to offenders.
In the book of (Proverbs 6:27-29), God likened adultery to a man carrying fire in his bosom or stepping upon hot coals. Yet the people of the world are adamant. To some extent, it does appear that attainment of manhood and womanhood is measured by the level of compliance in committing these acts of disobedience.
The world we live in is the center piece for these disobedience demonstrations. How? In Luke 10:18, Jesus said, “I beheld Satan as lightening fall from heaven. He was cast down from heaven and he landed on the earth to dwell in John 16:11, Jesus said, “of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.” On arrival, Satan set up as it were his administrative mechanisms aimed at polluting man and his environment. He went to work in earnest in the Eden where he dethroned Adam by causing him to sin and by extension, all flesh. So man fell flat and his flesh rubbished with total spiritual pollution with his dominion swallowed by Satan and man cast like a fish out of water onto a dry sandy beach-the world. And so the world has eaten deeply into the fabric of man’s existence.
The operation of the sins of adultery and fornication is like crass consummation of the flesh powered by the defilement of our bodies. And it carries on its wake, along its apron strings other atrocities such as murder, lying, cheating, stealing and the very raw nature of all demonic presentations.
It behooves the Christians of this world to have a total overview of the world and why does God insist we should distance ourselves. What does the world hold for us?

THE PHYSICAL WORLD AS A PLAY GROUND
This world is the platform where the battle is fought, won or lost. Or still, it is the playground of the absurd, where men as pawn occupy the space where the dragon reigns as king with his blood sucking cohorts on persistence demonic assignment aimed at man’s destruction in every dimension of life and living. Satan – the dragon have efficiently distributed his arsenal in the world through his agents, made manifest in man. Their manifestations include: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, and eagerness for lustful pleasure, idolatry, hostility, and participation in demonic activities, quarrelling, jealousy, and outburst of anger, selfish ambition, and divisions-the feeling that everyone is wrong except those in your own little group, envy, drunkenness, wild parties, and other kinds of sin. These are some of the pollution in the world that made our God to consistently warn us not to conform to the principle of the world-that the son of perdition, the dragon, the beast and his agents has laid traps for the children of God. This is to ensnare us and make our lives to become an abomination before our God.
This was the condition of things in the world that made God to send his son – Jesus out of love for man, to come and present a gateway for man, to escape the entrapment, devious devices Satan has placed in the path of man. So Jesus came with life which was the light of men. He came to bear witness of the light that all men through him might believe and be saved (John 1:7). The aim is to empower man so that man can remain in obedience against the power of Satan.
Now, because God’s children are human beings – made of flesh and blood, Jesus also became flesh and blood by being born a human being, so that by dying a man, He might through death, destroy him that has the power of death – Satan.(Hebrew 2:14). On the resurrection of Jesus Christ, he sent forth the Holy Spirit so as to further empower man to live an holy and righteous life in obedience to God, so that man can be saved through obedience and remaining faithful as a child of God. No wonder in Romans 8:14, the bible said, “As many as are led by the spirit of God, they are the sons of God”. Simple, if you are not led by the spirit, the power of the almightiness, you will definitely fall into the corruption that pervades the whole world.
Be it music, drama, in social services, communication, dress code, there is an underbelly of sexuality. To be sexy is now a compliment. What a misnomer!

THE CHALLENGE IN THE WORLD
There is a serious contention in the world we live in today. Clearly, there are two masters. The one they call the deceiver, Satan, the dragon and the lord and master, Jesus Christ – the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords – the one who is, who was and who is to come. You must declare your stand by water and by fire. Who is your father? You must say and state it categorically. You cannot stand on the fringe and wag your tongue.
This was the exact situation between Prophet Elijah and the prophet of Baal on Mount Carmel. Elijah shouted: “how long shall you operate between two opinions? If the Lord be God, follow him; but if Baal, then follow him.” (1kg18:21). The bible noted however, that the people answered him not a word. They were standing on the fringe even as today.
Almost every other female today are decked in skin tight pants they call “tights.” Their anatomy is clearly displayed like geographic “contours.” The men have no choice than to be helplessly attracted to this unsolicited display. That defines the language of dress code the world over. Those of them, who work so hard to cover their underbelly, do a compensatory error of putting on blouses whose top- cut downwards, exposes the cleavages of the breast – almost bursting out provocatively. The men and boys alike put on convenient low waist pants exposing their underwear. To a large extent, even ladies do the same. That defines the world of today. Decency is gradually being blown away by the satanic wind of change. Our television stations are almost competing with mild presentation of pornography with wild imagery and compulsive imaginations of the weird. And actors and actresses win awards for this” impeccable” performance.
In John 2: 15 we were advised “Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.” “Ye adulterers and adulteresses know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? Whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.” - James 4:4.
Let us think of the season and be wise. For everything that has a beginning, also has an end. Have we forgotten that the judgment of God came upon Sodom and Gomorrah by destruction through fire, brimstone and hail of destruction poured out from heaven? Have we also forgotten that only eight persons were saved from the flood in Noah’s world? As it was in the days of Noah and Sodom and Gomorrah, so shall it be. For the end must surely come with the judgment of God. The exact time, date and season is only known to God. Nevertheless, the signs of the season are here – we have entered the injury time. We need not delude ourselves. The air is ripe with the clarion call. Be warned!

But man can begin to ask, “What is this man after all?” Like David in Psalm 8,”what is man that thou O God, art mindful of him?”


GOD AND MAN
Man is God’s workmanship whom he created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which He Himself ordained that man should walk in them (Eph 2:10) S0 let us think about Jesus whom we declare as God’s own son, High Priest and faithful messenger, who took the form of man, so that through him man will receive redemption and be exalted with him above the unfaithful works of darkness. No man or anybody for that matter can lay any other foundation other than the one we have in Jesus Christ. That is the foundation which is a sure one upon which every Christian should build. The materials we decide to use in building up the foundation depend on us the Christian. In building, you may use gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay or straw. But on the judgment day, every man’s material will be tested and put through fire to see if it will retain its worth. The Lord will Judge our hidden works of darkness. (1cor 4:5)
Man is the dwelling place of God – our body is the temple of the Holy Ghost (1 Cor. 7:19). This is so because we are not our own master when we live and when we die. In life, we live to please the Lord whereas in death we go to be with the Lord (Rom14:7-. It follows that if we are standing on a sure ground, we must understand that the life we live should be that of worship to the Lord. In truth and in spirit shall we worship the Lord for the Father seeketh such to worship him. When God visited man to show himself, He came in a body – in human flesh. Jesus Christ was God in the flesh. Then they killed Him. Then He returned in the form of the Holy Ghost to take his place (abode) in our bodies as His temple. Today and now you and I are His body – the Church. Jesus Christ ministers through His body – the Church, being members of his body, flesh and bones. (Eph 5:30). Jesus Christ can do nothing without the church upon whose shoulder shall be the Government (Isaiah 9:6). This is the platform of authority, a place of power and dominion over the unfruitful work of darkness – be they powers thrones or dominions. Man therefore carries the body of Christ which is the framework of the church, being the church of Jesus Christ individually and collectively, with Christ as the Head of the Church. This body must therefore be kept holy for the Lord. “Meat for the belly and the belly for meat; But God shall destroy both it and them. Now the body is not for fornication, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body.” – (1Corinthians 6:13)
“Flee fornication! (Run away from sexual sin!) No other sin as clearly affects the body as this one does. For sexual immorality is a sin against your own body. Or don’t you know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself, for God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body. (1 Corinth 6:18-20)
Since you now know that your bodies are the members of Christ, will you now in exercise of marital freedom make them members of a harlot?
It will be a calamity that after reading this, one will say “It does not matter”. This Point need be mentioned because; there is nothing else as deceitful as the heart of man. It is too sick to be healed. (Jeremiah 17:9).
When the heart conceives and executes the contemplated action, it makes man unclean. This can be likened to what comes out of a person. (Mark 7:20-23).

YOU ARE THE LIGHT OF GOD
The path of the just is as the shining light. You are the light of the world – a city on a hill, carrying an armor of light.
The light guarantees the life of God in us. The light shines in the darkness and dispels it. The light bears witness of God’s presence in us. The light is the evidence of our fellowship with God. The light is a protective covering – armor. (Mathew 5:14-16, Acts 13:47, Romans 13:12, Luke 2:32). The light of God is the light that lightens up your walk in life; consequently we are children of light. We are not of the night or darkness. The light comes from the glorious Gospel of Jesus Christ, meaning the very word of God. If this word is hidden, it is hidden to those who are lost in flesh for they have chosen darkness. No wonder Isaiah the prophet proclaimed “Arise, shine for your light is come and the glory of the lord is risen upon thee”. – (Isa. 60:1)
If the good news being preached is veiled from anyone, it is a sign that they are perishing. Satan, the god of this world, has blinded the minds of those who don’t believe, so they are unable to see the glorious light of the gospel that is shining upon them (2 Cor. 4:3-10).
Rev 21:23 says,” The Lamb is the light.” This is the life which exists in the Lamb that beams the light on us all. This light which the Lamb, the Son of God radiates is credible evidence that He is Jesus the Christ. No one has ever seen God. But his only Son, who is himself God, is near to the Father’s heart; He has told us about Him. He declared Him and we now know that He is the father of lights with whom there is no variableness (James1:17).

LOOKING LUSTFULLY AT A WOMAN OR MAN
To lust after a woman or man is as dangerous as a physical commission of the said offence of adultery or fornication.
To lust is to possess inordinate desire or craving for immorality for either of the sexes as the case may be. Jesus frowned at such as a very unrighteous thing to do. He looks at it like any other form of ungodliness, sinful in nature because it is a thought projection which defiles the body. It is capable of engraving a mental picture in us which has the capacity of being satanically replayed time and again, beclouding our sensibilities, transfixing man in a kind of trance of exotic eroticism. And so Jesus said:
“But I say unto you, that whosoever looked on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.” –(Mathew 5:28).
On account of the current revelations Jesus granted selected persons whom He took to heaven and hell, most men found themselves in hell on account of this. This is part of what Apostle Paul was saying in 2Corinthians10:5-“casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalted itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.” Yes, from these thought waves, proceeds every conceptualization and demonstration in canal appropriations of majorly all fleshly sins. Some young women, at the height of their lustful content, even approach a man or go on to unleash their desire on fellow women in erotic aggrandizement. This is the foundation of lesbianism. On the other hand, the men can end up homosexuals, debasing themselves in giving expression to intense lustfulness. On the whole, both the men and women under the web of influence of lust can demonically be persuaded to give vent to it by engaging in crass masturbation with their mental picture as their beautiful, handsome erotic partners.
It is at the height of this that the Psalmist wrote in Psalm81:12, “so I gave them up unto their own hearts’ lust; and they walked in their own counsels.”
When you lust after someone or a thing, it is tantamount to trying to covet, which is against the law. We therefore need to always walk in the spirit of the Lord and be so guided in all things, so as to overcome the lust of the flesh. Why? Clearly, there is a contention between the spirit and the flesh. Consequently, the flesh lusted against the spirit and the spirit against the flesh. So we must of necessity be led by the spirit to enable us escape the hammer of the law regarding lust. (Galatians 5:16-26).
When we lust as the pagans would do, we express ungodliness and thereby glorify Satan. How dare we treat the Son of God with levity who has instructed us to the contrary? When lust is conceived, it must deliver sin (James1:15). The world offers noting else but lust – these are expressed as lust for physical pleasures, the lust for everything we see, and pride in our possessions. These are not from the Father and it has hell fire as its accompanying consequences (1John1:16-17).


OCCULTISM AND SECRET CULT ANGLE
Some people have found themselves in different occult groupings for different reasons. Some have made covenants that involve them in different levels of immorality, some of which are sexual. They cannot help themselves as their father- Satan will strike them dead. So they are sexually enslaved irrespective of the satanic wealth they possess. They forget that:” all flesh is as grass and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth and the flower thereof falleth away - But the word of God endureth forever.” (1Peter1:24-25)
Most persons engaged in homosexual relationship or lesbianism are Satanists who are perhaps unaware that the devil’s agenda is: to kill, to steal and to destroy. On the last day with the sound of the trump, there will be no excuse. Imagine! What is a normal, healthy man looking for in the anus of another, if it is not a strange type of madness? Do men conceive and give birth through the anus? God forbid! Some of them are even in the clergy. Satan is wicked – very wicked indeed as he even gives them unjust justifications for their travesty of human dignity.
When you worship your occult masters openly or in a secret cult, be warned as you are mortgaging your authority as a child of God.


SICKNESS AND DISEASE
The level of affliction occasioned by sexual relationships of any type cannot be overemphasized. Some medical personnel name some of these diseases as, “staph” and I call them, “staff of office”. There is no way you go in and come out clean. One will definitely be contaminated with a family of “staph” or “staff” or even the mother of all, “HIV.” Whichever way you look at it, it is a trap for endless type of affliction that kills, steals and destroys our joy. Some men have lost their virility. So why not wake up and retrace your steps. These are part of the administrative mechanism set up by Satan to catch man as it were, into his web of destruction.

BLOOD LINE ISSUE
Whenever one indulges in adultery or fornication, a blood line covenant is established. All the negativity within the blood line of the partners will be lewdly exchanged. The more the sexual partners, the more alters you go into covenant with, sprinkling your blood as it were along the line. All uncleanness, curses, sickness and other satanic implantations will be exchanged, when you go into yourselves.
There is no child born without express structures and characteristics from the contributory blood line. This is the power in the blood. So when one joins his semen with prostitutes and all manner of sexual intercourse, the “farm” cultivated in the process can better be imagined. It is indeed a poignant issue. Leviticus 17:11 says that the life of every creature is in its blood.

THE ETERNITY EQUATION
You are you in this world and in the world to come. Obviously you will recognize yourself. The relevance of the issues raised is that the responsibility rests on you to either decide to enjoy all the decadence now and suffer hereafter. It is you and you all through.
Let us hypothetically assume you can actually live for 120 years in this world and that you are now 30years old leaving you with a balance of 90years of joy in this world; let us see how it works out with eternity equation:
Eternity minus 90 years = Eternity
Will you sacrifice eternity for additional satanic enjoyment on earth, abandoning your abode with the Lord, in your mansion in heaven? If you are already 60 years and above, from the eternity equation, you will find out where you stand. Today is time enough to take a positive action. When you leave this earth, the power to make amends will elude you forever. Do the needful now!
Even if some of us don’t believe anything said, why not take a risk on the positive side of God’s word. Jesus is calling you: come and taste and see that the Lord is good and see if he will not make you happy and save you for an everlasting testimony. You have been on the other side all through your life. Now is the time to come over. You are welcome on board the ship of salvation! (John10:10).

JESUS REIGNS
We need to begin to order our footsteps within the ambit of appropriate sensibility in righteousness. Jesus is the pattern Son. He has overcome the world. This is the main and perhaps only deciding factor: “who is He that reigns in our life?” Is He the over comer? If Jesus reigns in our lives, then He has taken full possession; He dictates and directs what you do and say – all your actions. He becomes the Governor of your life while you become His Ambassador. If He reigns, then you put Satan and his antics under your feet.
By Him, Kings Reign and princes decree Justice (Proverb 8: 15). “Behold a King shall reign in righteousness and princes shall rule in Judgment (Isaiah 32:1). But unto the Son He saith, Thy throne, O God, is forever and ever; a scepter of righteousness is the scepter of thy Kingdom. He has redeemed us completely from Adam’s sin – (Romans5: 17-21). I invite you to reign with the Lord.

THE PATH OF WISDOM
Follow wisdom and it will lead you to safety and His righteousness will save you from the work of darkness. I advise you to be wise, smart and careful. Do not delude yourself anymore. Note that Jesus Christ couldn’t have given up His life in vain. He was actually determined to save you and me from darkness and take us to be with him. He encouraged us so much, so that we will win the race. He said we should not give up hope. He told us that in His Father’s house there are many mansions and that He was going to prepare a place for you and I. He concluded that if it were not so He would have told us. So my beloved brethren, see that you are standing, knowing that He is faithful and that He truly loves us beyond words. Therefore note that:
1. While it is said, today, if ye will hear His voice, harden not your heart as in the provocation- (Hebrew 3:
2. “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to clean us from all unrighteousness” (1John1:9).
3. “Come now let us reason together – though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are as red a like crimson, they shall be as wool”- (Isaiah 1:18).
4. “That if thou shall confess with thy mouth, the Lord Jesus and shall believe in thine heart that God raised him from the dead, thou shall be saved”-(Romans10:9-10)
With the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. “Neither is there salvation in any other name.” No other name is given through whom man can be saved (except the name of Jesus Christ, the Lord of Lords and the King of Kings) – (Acts 4: 12).
- Know you that your repentance is necessary. Follow Jesus! The time is too short. Someday, shortly, the trumpet will sound.
- Let us put our hands on deck and strive to depopulate hell and populate heaven.
- Heaven is real and hell is also real.
- The choice is ours to make.
