HOW TO BRIDGE RELIGIOUS DIVIDE

Let me start by saying, argument will never prevent religious divide, it will only lead to more arguments.

What can prevent religious divide is simple tolerant, respect and understanding.

You are a Muslim, You believe Allah or God is one, Prophet Muhammed is the messenger and the last prophet sent by God to mankind. You believe that God has no son, men are allowed to marry up to 4 wives etc in your religion. This must be understood and respected. As a christian, i have no right say your religion is wrong to hold this belief or question its spirituality.

I as a Christian should understand this basics, tolerate you with your belief and respect you with your faith.

When it comes to religious matters, it is not the opposing religious believers responsibility to question the other religion, let's leave each other religious doctrine aside for them since they knew it and chose it over yours.

In term of relationship, Let us continue our smooth relationship in other aspect of life in peace and unity.

When it is time to pray, remind your Muslim brother, its time for Sal-at.

I as a Christian, i believe Jesus is the lord and savior, he his the son of God, he died on the cross of Calvary for my sins, he his the truth and the way. You as a Muslim should understand this simple faith and accept me and my Christian faith,my believe and my God.

This is the only way to stand against religious divide.

When it is time for fellowship, remind your Christian brother, its time for fellowship.

What you think about My Christian or your Muslim faith doesn't matter, it doesn't change the believe. I know your religion before i chose mine, leave me with my religious belief and enjoy yours.

I or you have to no right what so ever to question another man's faith, just as he has no right to question yours.

If we can't understand this simple fact, then we are lost as far as peaceful co-existence is concerned. Abdul AOH

nice point!

I as a christian I don't talk about Islam or argue with them because I grew up in SW even have Muslim as friends not just about two Months ago, simply because when I saw the way there're twisting the Word of God. So I just tried to show them the light not propably arguing, which I have decided to stop this day.

I as a Christian, i believe Jesus is the lord and savior, he his the son of God, he died on the cross of Calvary for my sins, he his the truth and the way. You as a Muslim should understand this simple faith and accept me and my Christian faith,my believe and my God.

No offence ooo, with my little research here and on Islam world wide no Muslim will ever agree this above statement with, why?

Just because their BOOK Quran is totally false on them which we all know.

The argument comes when you try to let them know that all the above statement are true about Jesus, but they purposely opposed it because once they accept it their Book if wrong.

In conclusion, I'll just say we should continue to preach the Gospel of Christ not by arguement just say your mind base on the scriptures without adding your own personal view which has caused many set back to the Gospel of Christ today and we should stop promoting religion-christianity.

Shalom!

Yeah..i am also guilty of arguing. I get passionately upset when people distort the word of God to suit their selfish agendas and propaganda, well God is helping me in the area of avoiding foolish unlearned arguments.

Thanks for this piece of advice.

Even the poster is a Muslim, so you are wrong to say Muslims don't agree. The problem starts from your wrong notion.

bilms: Emusan,
I reply you because of this!

it is you who is wrong not them.

How?

You have no right what so ever to tell Muslims that there believe is wrong,

Imagine, why don't I have right? When my Bible tells me Jesus was crucified, He is the only begotten Son of God, He resurrected from death and He still alive today. And someone who doesn't believe on Jesus says all these are wrong because his/her book didn't say so.

just as they have no right to tell you that yours is wrong.

That's what they do which leads to this your thread.

So the problem is you not them.

How?

Shalom!

bilms: Even the poster is a Muslim,

And you believe all these saying about Jesus, I'm very sure not all Muslim will agree with you.

so you are wrong to say Muslims don't agree.

Till tomorrow they don't because of its implication on their side.

The problem starts from your wrong notion.

How? For me to say Holyspirit is not Muhammad, or Jesus is the Only begotten Son of The Father, or Jesus died and resurrected.

Please kindly tell me my wrong notion?

Shalom!

Emusan, i repeate, you are wrong.....

When my Bible tells me Jesus was crucified, He is the only begotten Son of God, He resurrected from death and He still alive today.

Their Qur'an tell them a different thing to what your bible tells you.

So, Should they come forward to tell you that your bible is wrong, would you welcome them and agree that your bible is wrong?

If no, why do you expect them to accept what ever your bible tells you which according to their Qur'an is wrong?

You can see where the problem comes.. it is you who fail the tolerant test not them.... learn to understand the basics of religion instead of being aggressive and when they return your aggression, you will claim Muslims are intolerant.

Salam.

Many christians and muslims are quite deluded....

There can never be a "bridging" of religious divide. Religion is divisive on its own.

How can two people who both believe that their religions are false ever be "real" friends. I see the leader of the muslim council meeting with an English Archbishop and smiling together.....however, we know that at home, the Muslim leader or Imam will tell his followers that the Jewish holy books were corrupted and there is only one religion while the Archbishop will tell his folowers that there is only one way and that is through Jesus.

Same delusional beliefs, different religions

bilms: Emusan, i repeate, you are wrong.....

You never tell me why?

Their Qur'an tells them a different thing to what your bible tells you.

But on one person, right? If Jesus who was mention in the Bible is the same one mention in Quran, who is right and who is wrong?
I will only agree with you if Quran is talking about another jesus.
But if they're both talking about the same Jesus, is it the book that came after 600years of His event that is right or the one that the eyes witnesses wrote that is right?

So, Should they come forward to tell you that your bible is wrong,

That is what they do, I repeat myself Yes!

would you welcome them and agree that your bible is wrong?

This is the causes of the arguement.

Imagine I don't believe in a pagan god called 'god of Iron' but I want to tell god of Iron worshiper that worshiping your god without Oil is the best.

If no, why do you expect them to accept what ever your bible tells you which according to their Qur'an is wrong?

If they didn't quote from Bible falsefully to support their lie about Jesus whatever they say I'm in support.

You can see where the problem comes.. it is you who fail the tolerant test not them....

No they should stop quoting from Bible or interpret It wrongly just to support their false believe about Jesus.

learn to understand the basics of religion instead of being aggressive and when they return your aggression,

If you know me I believe this your statement won't come out.

you will claim Muslims are intolerant.

How did you know sir?

Salam.
This is another case, I remember when a muslim told me that Jesus greets in Islam way 'salam alleku' just because Jesus said 'peace be unto you' is that not funny? Now because I always end my post with Shalom you too adopted the style....lol

Shalom!

division comes when the God of a religion resides in a book and not in the hearts of its followers.
what is written in a book is followed blindly and no questions asked even if it leads to negative actions it is okay so far it is done in the name of their God.

if instead you try to find God within your heart where It is residing and Its true quality is love and love alone and live your life based only on this love you can imagine what the world would be like.

bilms: Because you want to impose your believe on them.

See what you resolted to, Isn't that an hypocrite and how many people Christians have killed or forced to go to church just because they failed to accept Jesus Christ?

The real meaning of Muslim in Yoruba is IMOLILE to beark it down:

IMO-Teaching
LILE- Too Hard.
All together It means 'A teaching received in a hard way'. Why this name? When Islam came to South West of Nig. It was by force to accept It and then Yoruba culture promotes peach even than Islam Itself.

I don't like saying all this but because of your statement.
So christians never force and will never force anybody to accept Christ.

One thing you fail to realize is that, if i should engage you in this discus, all your long write ups would turn short as i am very certain that you lack the intellectual strength to hold a discussion without resorting to personal abuse. Just now, you asked, why did i say you are wrong, and i made it clear that, it is because you want to impose your religious view on others against theirs, and when they reject such, you call them names and tag them intolerant and their religion bad or wrong. What did you do next? Call me hypocrite. Do you know the meaning of a hypocrite? I doubt. Many of you guys just use words without knowing it meaning and usage. Anyway, take care. Salam

South America (christian inquisition/forced conversion), Phillipines(christian inquisition/forced conversion), North America (chrisitian missionary work/forced assimilation and conversion of natives/genocide of native tribals), Europe (forced conversion/inquisition),Egypt(forced conversion of Pagans/destruction of Pagan Library in Alexandria, etc.) sub-saharan Africa (slave-trade sanctioned by church highest-suthority, forced conversion of slaves in New Land and on ships).

i seriously wish the day will come in Nairaland Religion section when people will start posting ways we can live a better life, how they have faced trials and mastered the challenges that life presented, how they have learnt vital lessons from life experiences so that others can learn from them, instead they waste their precious time arguing about whose religion is better and whose God is bigger.

i set up a thread on practical spirituality and put up techniques that can enable one experience the Holy Spirit and become a better person and invited others to share their own techniques and no one even bothered and so i concluded that many people come here not looking for an avenue for growth for they have already stopped growing. they are only looking for avenue for argument and how to lord it over another person.

I refuse to negotiate with any christians or muslims on the grounds of religion.

They have committed crime and the only payment they can give us is through religious conversion to Paganism and building up the remains of tribal culture and society which they attempted to destroy.

The irony here is that you are not helping matters.

You have indirectly done what you complained about.

You first say that people here only want to argue about ahose religion or god is better
Yet, you go on to give growth techniques with the holy spirit. Your shallow religious mind wont tell you that you are indirectly saying that your religion is true and it is the best option

most of those techniques still comes from the holy books of those arguing about whose religion is better. they are busy arguing while within their Holy books are techniques that can enable them experience what unites us all. that is what i was trying to point out and not that my religion is the best option.
i was seriously hoping that a christian will try the christian technique and a moslem will try the one pertaining to his own religion. these techniques helps to open the spiritual eyes of whoever practices them. and once your spiritual eyes are open the illusions about truth are cleared and the arguments dies a natural death. no amount of argument will give a soul an iota of truth but just a grain of spiritual experience brings out the nature of love in that soul.

and moreover any one who has had spiritual experiences will not even bother about arguing with atheists about whether God exists or not and of course will not judge them either and will let them be. because he or she knows that you can not prove the existence of God to another soul. you can only express the essence of God through the love for all life that flows through you.
