Hello Phone gurus,
Please advise me on this.
I just passworded my memory card, when i switched it off, and powered it again, i entered the password but it keeps requesting for a password.
All data save on the card is no longer accessible.
Please can anyone advise if their is a default code for unlocking a Memory card

guy,there is nothing like default code.if you don't know the password you used that is the end.although to every general rule there is an exception.a friend of mine had the same problem like yours.he just format the memory card.note:you will lose all your stuffs on the MMC.Cheers.

format memory card in compatible file format using a card reader, restore latest backup, password MMC and please try to remember ur password this time.

you don't need any card reader.when my friend couldn't remember the password he used.i personally gave him my card reader and we inserted the MMC into the card reader and connect it to a laptop,it couldn't even open let alone read anything.just format with your phone ok.but their might be a problem when you want to back up.that is why i asked you of your phone model and you kept mute.am off.i have exam tomorrow.bye.

well i just put a password on my MMC now and formatted it (hoping it was going to ask for password), the silly thing formatted
yea ur phone will format the MMC, but formatting the MMC from phone doesnt remove the password, cuz i still had to unlock the MMC with the password even after formatting with phone.

@poster check on this thread: MEMORY CARD ,i pasted the application there,install it on ur phone memory, go to the installed icon and click on it. The name of the apps is mmc password finder. So dont format ur memory card yet

OR

Retrieve lost MMC password

1. Open file explorer. (SeleQ, FExplore, AppMan, whatever')
2. search for MMCSTORE
3. when you find it, send it to your PC
4. on PC, open the file with Notepad, or any word processor
5. there goes your password

Increase Your MMC Storage Space

Your files in MMC are stored in multiple (disk) blocks so if you format using 16K block, the space used will be 16K eventhough your file is just 1K.

If you buy MMC, it is usually preformatted with 16K block. Therefore, alot of space is wasted as most installed program files are usually less than 2K.

You will need a card reader to do this:-

1. Connect card reader and copy all your files in the MMC to computer disk. (Make sure you set the show all/hidden/os files to 'on')
2. Do a format of the MMC using command line 'format' and use the /A=size option.

Alternative, you can use the Disk Management in Adminstrative Tools to format. Make sure you select FAT.
For 256MB MMC, smallest block you can use is 4K, 128MB is 2K, 64Mb is 1K and 32MB is 512B. (Note: You cannot use the phones 'format MMC' to do this as the format just clear the allocation table and does not change the block size)

3. Copy back all files to MMC.

Now you will find that you will have more space.
256MB MMC got back 30+ MBs

HS, u neva asked of the phone model, if at all you asked, why on earth should i keep mute?

I tried the format the card on the phone but it couldnt go thru

first u have to restore ur card and formate again.
if failed
try card reader with ur laptop,dont formate with fat file.
use fat32 and it wil set the password off.

werlay, which procedure are u talking abt as there are alot of suggestions here.

I just try to install the MMCpwdfinder but its nt supported on the phone.

I also hav the same problem,i password my mmc and i removed it from phone and i gave it to my friend to copy data from it,when he gave it back to me he said his card reader culd not see it so i inserted the mmc into my phone but n70 says d mmc is corrupted,my phone culdnt format it but when i check d password tru pasword finder it gives me the pasword but i cant format.i tried to format using d same card reader but it didnt see my mmc.may be i should luk 4 another card reader.am fed up

I just met a guy who was able to format the MMC on my phone,
after that, i powered the phone only to see that the MMC was showing that its corrupt,
i tried to format it again but it wasnt going thru.
As i powered the phone again, the phone was taking ages to boot,
I went back to the guy and he told me that the MMC password affected the phone and the phone would need to be Flashed.
I doubt that because i removed the MMC and phone worked very well.

Pls can any guru confirm this?

mr man,why cant u use card reader to format and besides i dont think password can hamper phone booting may be another thing has happened to the phone.if i may get u right,u format the mmc in another phone and it works but when u inserted it into ur phone it says mmc is corrupt.dis thing na serious matter ,dont u know dat am waiting 4u just 2 know ur outcome b4 i proceed on my own too.

Did you 4get ur passwrd or ur phone is rejecting the correct passwrd . . . . . .
I suggest u scan ur phone 4 virus . . . . Then change ur security level to memory and reboot ur phone. . . .



Or open ur mmc with a card reader. . . . . . . . . . Open all the openables using wordpad and look 4 ur passwrd in it. . . . . . . . . . . .

Guy i forsaw this problem.Read my last post very well.The only way out for you is.Just flash your phone and everything will be ok.The flashing codes are:*#7370# and the second one is *#7780#
