Dr. Fasheun's OPC Faction clashes with police while launching UPN

28 Aug 2013
There was confusion in Iju-Ishaga, a suburb of Lagos, Tuesday  as police officers attached to the Ishaga Divisional Headquarters clashed with some factional members of the Oodua People’s Congress (OPC).

It was gathered that trouble started when policemen on patrol stopped the OPC convoy, which was moving towards Agege, where they had aimed to launch a unit of the congress in the area.

According to reports, some OPC members allegedly ignored police’s orders and when they were threatened with arrest, they were said to have brought out their guns and started shooting into the air.

According to an eyewitness account, the policemen fought back by firing canisters of teargas into the group.  At the end of the altercation, which lasted for about an hour, six members of the factional group were arrested.
When contacted by journalists, one of the factional leaders of OPC, Chief Gani Adams, claimed those involved in the clash were not his members.

He said: "Those who clashed with the police are never our members. They are Dr. Fasheun's people. Our findings revealed that they are launching a political party called Unity Party at Amao Street in Agege today (yesterday). It was on their way to the place that they clashed with the police.

“It is unfortunate that at this level of our political history, some people still believe they can lead a group they cannot control. You don’t lead an organisation you cannot control. “

Attempts to contact Dr. Frederick Fasheun proved abortive but an OPC member who spoke on the condition of anonymity confirmed the incident, adding that the dispute had been resolved.
As at press time, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Lagos State Command, Ngozi Braide, a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), was not available for comment as she was said to be in a meeting.

How far can the president go with his desperate mind of getting re-elected in 2015?

Paying militants(OPC) to cause havoc and disrupt SouthWest's peace by awarding them a N2b contract of securing pipelines. Is this the pipeline they want Nigerians to believe they are securing?

Involving in state(anambra) politics by secretly disqualifying the best candidate and the man of the people(professor Soludo) to guarantee his 2015 support from the state and imposing puppets on the good people of the state.

Fighting one of Nigeria's most competent and hard working governor Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers state, just because he doesn't fall for his(jonathan) dubious antics and wanting to stand alone. Where 5 lawmakers successfully impeached a speaker in a house that has over 30 honorable(s).

Breaking down a forum(Nigeria governor's forum) into factions, a forum that has been existing before he knew anything close to politics. Where 16votes was greater than 19votes.

^^^
All these because of 2015!!!

-Yet, the education sector is crumbling with federal and state universities lecturers on strike.
-Health sector is write off, where governors and even the first lady need to fly out of the country to threat even malaria.
-Oil theft at its peak.
-taking loans allover the world to revive the locomotive rail system, that couldn't successfully move goods from Lagos to Kano/Kaduna(less than a thousand kilometers)
And renovating existing airports which was never his idea, claiming to have achieved.

Yet Nigeria is the highest oil exporter in Africa.

Really fresh air!

@Eko atlantic....Nice one...but i don't really think Gej has hands in soludo's removal..and am not even sure he is people's choice..coz i have not heard of any protest by an Anambrian citizen because of his removal....all i want is a governor that will transfer my dear anambra to a better place....let them start from Awka..then onitsha..then nnewi..then to other parts of the state.i pray also that Nigeria should have a better president 2015...coz all i see in aso rock are people that don't know Good things

But how many Political Party are we going to have? Who are the real and true followers of AWOLOWO? What is the aim of this people for erecting a party that has become a story in the history of Nigeria.
These are my question as to what the Dr. Fredrick Fasheun is trying to luminate in the country, we have not had enough from the existing ones and yet he is trying to bring in another one.Instead of wasting that money on miscreant why not use it to help the needs. There are hundreds of the youth out there searching for how to make their days, students in the school who are yet to pay their school fees. Fasheun should learn to be a CHARITY GIVER and not a careless founder who lost the mantle of power to Gani Adam all in the name of inefficiency, negligent and friendly with Police/govt.He should just know that people are watching and be guided.
