If you were truly the 'genuine' man you claimed, you could simply have broken up with her without any 'testing' or planting evidence - simply tell her you are no longer interested in the relationship because she doesn't trust you. All this 'I'll get back at her' thing is not only needlessly adversarial, but very petty too.
