I am mr. Benjamin, a graduate of Accounting currently serving as an NYSC. I want to register for ICAN exams ( PE1 and PE11) next year but to begin the registration now under NYSC. Pls can a professional help me on the registration process and how to get my form submitted at the ICAN office in lagos because I am serving in Jigawa state which is very far away from lagos. I don't know if submission of ICAN printed form can also be submitted in Abuja. Pls I need ur help.

@op...yes u can! ICAN has no restriction regardless U̶̲̥̅̊я course of study at Tђξ university..but none accounting students will have to start from ATS1 which is Tђξ foundation part of ICAN,which shows that u have no knowledge of accounting.. Only Graduates of accounting can be given an exemption to start from PE1 which is the professional stage, but will pay an exemption fee..

Apply for studentship to the institute, who will then ask u to pay a sum of money into the bank..then after 2weeks,check their website to confirm U̶̲̥̅̊я studentship application status..then after this u can process for Exam fee nd exemption fee. Hope it helps!

Thank you so much sir for helping me out, I do appreciate.
There is this other one that am yet to be cleared of; I called one professional Accountant whose number I came across in the cause of chatting like this and he told me that after my registration, the forms that I print out from the net couple with other document will have to be taken to Lagos for submission and processing. My question now is this, apart from Lagos is there no other place in Abuja that I can submit my forms and other document after registration?. My reason being that Lagos is too far from where I am doing my NYSC, but Abuja is nearer. Pls I need u to help me out.

Yes you can, and not from ATS. As a graduate, you can begin from foundation. Better still go to the ICAN website, www.icanig.org and try to gather as much info as you can.

It is likely ICAN has a liaison office in Jigawa, albeit small. However, if there is none there, surely you will find in one of the neighbouring states. Although you will need to pay a little amount of money.
Try to contact any chartered accountant or ICAN student where you are. He/she would likely know where the nearest office is.
And surely, you can submit it in Abuja.

I am most delighted sir, thank you very much for your concern and understanding. Pls do NYSC collaborate with ICAN body?, I mean is there any benefit that a serving corps member will stand to enjoy when registering for ICAN exams in terms of the registration cost and others?m

I don't think so sir..ICAN has no business with NYSC, unless in the nearest future.

@benjamin..well,Ican is a very challenging exam and requires dedication. that is,financially nd timely..u need to study rigorously...U really need a lecture centre, get study packs, pathfinders, their FA is very tough(for PE1 candidates)..u dont just need past question alone, get updated with IFRS questions...one more thing,if ur sch is accredited,u don't need to start from PE1
