Anambra To Employ 5,000 Teachers by Donchyke39(m): 7:58am On Sep 05, 2013
Anambra State Governor Peter Obi yesterday ordered the immediate employment of 5,000 teachers and other administrative workers into the state’s primary and secondary schools.
Obi directed the Commissioner for Education, Mrs. Uju Okeke, to ensure that the employment process followed due process in the 21 local government areas.
The governor, who spoke at the 2013 Principals’ Annual Retreat at Nkpor, Idemmili North Local Government Area, said the state would spend N15 billion on primary and secondary schools by December.
He said before the end of October, the 410 secondary schools in the state would receive new buses, generators and computer sets, with complete accessories.
Mrs. Okeke said the state education system was being repositioned and schools would continue to benefit from the government’s intervention.

You just took the words out of my mind. Obi has been following the Ohakim script including conducting LGA elections at the twilight of his tenure and laying foundation for huge projects.

So because his tenure will end in 2014, teacher s should not be employed for or schools and everything in Anambra should grind to a halt? I think Chino is right about you afterall.

Can't you reason that he has spent his 7 years without employing a single teacher and without conducting LGA elections? Maybe you believe he realized the importance lately. Be wise.

He first renovated most of the schools, then hanaded them over to missionaries for proper management and now is the right time to employ teachers. Stay off Anambra and mind your useless state with a hopeless clown as a Governor

really, what an interesting sharing of events. What a plan from Peter Obi in 8 years and lets hope those schools were only renovated in your village and that's if you are from Anambra

Great move. Every penny spent on education will bear eternal fruit. That is what this country needs. More education not less.

you know he is a magician that can just employ 5000 teachers without new schools. He only renovated the old and suddenly 5000 teachers are employed. Adaobi is the best.

These people know nothing about governance.

I thought election was in November, exactly two months away (aka 8 weeks) and that's how he wants to infuse N15billion? Gov. Obi should gradually bow out because this is nothing short of a mischievous stunt, he wants to create chaos and thrown Anambra into commotion. Abt 8 weeks left before a new winner emerges, this is a time to commission all your mega projects, yet you're just beginning? Abeg, who is deceiving who?
Re: Anambra To Employ 5,000 Teachers by Antivirus92(m): 12:38pm On Sep 05, 2013
It pains me that most anambra people judge their state from what they hear from outsiders. It's a pity. Peter obi has worked really hard. If all the governors we have been having or will be having can match his achievements, then in no distant time. Anambra will be a paradise.

There is nothing wrong with the timing. What Rochas did to those poor people that were given employment by Ohakim is a crime against humanity and should be condemned by every reasonable human being. Abagworo is a well knowned chameleon

nonsense. Peter Obi has turned Anambra to one big village. Ngige's 2 years is far better than the 8 years of the kleptomaniac Peter Obi who has done more (with state funds) for his private business than governance of the state.
