PDP Crisis: Obasanjo Warns Leaders Against Disintegration by Danfo(m): 3:36am On Sep 07, 2013
Former Nigerian President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, has warned of a possible disintegration of the ruling Peoples’ Democratic Party unless something is done to stem the current crisis rocking the party.

Speaking to journalists after the meeting he held to broker peace between the two factions of the PDP, in Abuja, the former president explained that the meeting made some headway in the effort to broker peace.

He promised that he and the elders of the party will do their best to end the disagreement which trailed the PDP Special National Convention.

In attendance were governors of Bayelsa, Delta, Katsina, Abia, Kogi, Plateau, Cross River, Akwa Ibom, Rivers, PDP National Chairman Bamangar Tukur, as well as Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Chief Tony Anenih.

Some of the governors had left the meeting but nonetheless the former BoT Chairman had a private meeting with those who were left behind, at the Hilton hotel.

Why should GEJ compromise? Is it because he is from the minority? Can you name any Nigerian president or governor that did not exercise his constitutional right to seek a 2nd tenure in office? This is all about the mentality of 'born to rule'. Are the 7 governors not 2nd term governors who are finishing their terms? GEJ should go ahead and contest even if it will lead to the break up of the country. Nonsense!!!

Let OBJ say whatever he likes...GEJ is going 4 2nd term, let d masses decide, not that some set of ppl will sit somewhere and give condition 4 mr President...

OBJ after military rule, did 2 term and even planned 3rd term,Buhari is there bent on ruling again...

If this will bring about the disintegration of this country, then so be it...
