Month of August was a splendid one in the Nigerian music industry, why? Cause not did only new music were released but good music were put out. Burnaboy, Soundsultan and Monica Ogah of project fame put out their albums – Burnaboy did get all the buzz out of the album released and has been the talk of the month after sealing a deal with Telecommnication company and him putting out a good album, Whatever he does becomes a thing for the press. Limpopo master, Kcee also released “Okoso” a follow up for his ground breaking single “Limpopo” and he didn’t fail his fans keeping the flag flying with another dance song and a very colorful video. Wizkid gave us what the outro of his untiled album will be while Olamide still can’t do no wrong with every song released being a hit; New slangs, new vibe different vibe, he is indeed a “Baddo”. P-Square dropped “Makossa Fiesta” while on their U.S – Canada tour. Masterkraft keeps going over the edge with his beats, guitars, piano, made production skills on Timaya’s Ukwu having more than a minute to flaunt his skills on the track. 9ice Alapomeji also got Don Jazzy to produce his new tune “Ike Kan” and fans wanted to know what it will sound like having 9ice on a Don Jazzy beat. Didn’t really have any effect other than that with Clarence Peters directing what looks like a low budget video to push the song and everyday it looks like we’ve lost the Gongo Aso 9ice that we know.

The top downloaded song is not a surprise at all with thousands of downloads in a week and millions on all blogs over 4 weeks and as got people talking is Davido’s Skelewu, as the duo of Shizzi and Davido look like a match made in heaven, reminding us what we use to have in OJB and 2face Idibia, Don Jazzy and D’banj, ID Cabasa and 9ice, Sossick and Dagrin, Samklef and Wizkid, Tee-Y Mix and Naeto C, Jesse Jags and M.I, Young D and Timaya. The list never ends.. These duos never went wrong on any song. Shizzi and Davido haven’t gone wrong on any song they both got together to do. Skelewu gets you dancing at first hearing. If you haven’t downloaded it yet you definitely missing out on another anthem of the year. Sound Sultan “My Mouth & I” album is star studded and has great tune but couldn’t make the top 10 downloaded songs in August with his song “Kokose” with Wizkid coming behind Timaya’s Ukwu while while Wizkid’s Starboy’s – Caro which featured LAX and Wizkid following.
