JudismphD: The Nigeria state is a huge enterprise. Time for the police to milk the struggling public after being scheme out by road safety and VIO. Some set of criminal salamander will just wake up one morning and their satanic agenda is to further strangulate Nigerians. When have anybody visit a police station and see a computer set at display even at the DPO office? What u see is a portait of jonathan and Abubakar dangling on the wall, guns, lanten and group of desperate men and women. This is the same police teaching Nigerians advance computing!

Nigerians are warned to note that their government no longer offers its citizenry any social service. At the last NASS public hearings on the new plates & drivers licensing scheme, the NPF were admonished to shelve their replicative scheme (with its #6000 tag) for the one being run by the FRSC to which they'd being guranteed access. In Abuja, my new drivers licence & car plates were e~coded upon the payment of the additional sums of #1000 & #2000 respectively for samilar reasons now being adduced

Because they want to generate their own "revenue" since not much is coming from roadblocks

It is impossible to carry out biometric registration of the non-biological. Do cars gave fingerprints and eye colour?! If they need biometric registration of car owners or drivers, the FRSC has that database, and can transfer it to them digitally for free.

All this grammar is to release a N30 billion budget for the "Biometric Registration of Cars". Unless those cars are "Transformers" from "Cybertron", this is utter nonsense!

Pray: Why cant they factor this into the New vehicle registration before now?. Lack of foresight....
That s the problem with this country and our leader. doing right thing in a wrong time and wrong way.
Re: Police Begin Biometric Registration Of Vehicles by Mustay(m): 9:31am On Sep 11, 2013
Our agencies do not share data and we have no central database - that's evident here once more. Even the FRSC (as theur commander said) is not aware of this development. smh It's like everyone just wants to be a star with redundant/recycled innovations.

The boys are hungry and have to be settled as there are no more returns from the road. As you can see we are still the ones to pay, either on the road or my organised exploitation from above.

What have we not heard? it used to be ECMR, that made some people millionairse now it is BCMR. Haba!

Re: Police Begin Biometric Registration Of Vehicles by MightyThor(m): 3:14pm On Sep 11, 2013
I can just imagine the typical scenario on the road

Police: Oga way your BCMR Smart Card? angry

Driver: Officer here it, it is up to date. smiley

Police: Na so una dey talk jare, wait make i put am for the machine make e check am, before you do my work for me. eer corporal come check this one card for me.

Corporal: Yes sir!

Police: You get luck say the corporal wey sabi the machine dey, you for don wait til him come as me i no sabi use the machine, Corporal you never check am!

Corporal: Oga battery for machine don die oooo. wink

Police: Mr. Man you go wait till we get battery check your card because i dey suspect this your card or you provide battery for us make we leave the matter. Which one you take? By the way park well first bring your key and particulars make we see.

Driver: angry

Trust the Nigeria police to think up ways to fleece the mass, there is going to be various variation to how they will gain.

NA WA OOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! HABA!!!!!!!!!!!

This guys no go kill us. How can you just wake up and plan a money milking scheme from already imporverished Nigerians and someone sits there and becomes a billionaire overnight?

Assuming there are 20million vehicles in Nigeria. 3500 per vehicle multiplied by 20million gives you 70billion naira and this is just an assumption. This is truly outrageous. Who gets the contracts? What benefit does it add to the motorists? How will the police on the streets check and verify a vehicle's status? Will all police cars have verification equipment on board like in th US and other advance countries?

We buy fuel to run our generators, drill our own boreholes and arrange vigilantes to guide our home/streets/lives/properties. The federal fire service does not exist and our transport system is totally privately operated. Land lords/ladies are having a field day with no control whatsoever. Great Hoolabaloo.............endless.

We are still trying to get into the "cashless" thing introduced by the Central bank/Sanusi and now this. C R A Z Y....

Adios mona mi...........
I think the police should hold on for now make we get ourselves after the deadline for old number plates which cost about thirty five thousand naira.
