The Archbishop of the Niger Delta North Diocese of the Anglican Church, Most Reverence Ignatius Kattey, kidnapped by some gunmen, was released Saturday night, according to the police.

Public Relations Officer of Rivers State Police Command, DSP Angela Agabe, in a telephone chat, said the cleric had been freed.

It could not be confirmed if any ransom was paid. Sunday Vanguard gathered that the archbishop was released at Eleme. Kattey was taken hostage about a week ago, minutes after he drove out of his residence at
Eleme.

^^^You think they're thinking that deep on the repercussions of their actions? For them the bottom-line is how many millions they can make from their criminal enterprise; all this turenchi of their actions worsening the security and investment climate, which would in turn lead to more unemployment.....all that is non of their bizness!

I think the state of mind of these guys is that they've given up on life, but rather than just end it all with a rope round the neck, they might as well get rich or die trying!

This goes to show that the government is a joke: but all the same if these boys kidnap for money and not for killing their victims then that's partially fair. But if they're hard men they should go and kidnap the politheifcians and not mere men.

Since this has become a trend and a lucretive venture for the unemployed, i admonish them to know those they kidnap and stay away from the clergy. It would have been better if they only go after those that have enslaved the poor masses! The government has completely failed. The police hardly succeed in rescuing a hostage and as such, what they do when a hostage is released by their abductors is to shut d phuk up & remain silent when asked questions as regard ransome. Or even when they respond, it will be thus "investigations are going on" that's their national anthem. Who knows who much was paid for Mike's (the Lawyer)release some days back The government apparatus would have been their targets and same with BH, the hunter being hunted and u will see things change.
