voltron: NL Atheists are similar to NL Religion-freaks in a sense, while they are direct opposites when it comes to beliefs, their approach to taking action is pretty much the same (with the exception of Islamofreaks who just straight up bombshitup) .. talk theories, history, intelligent design, evolution yakityyak and so forth.. has there really been a visible, measurable contribution to society as a whole (Christians do as much as shit as they talk on NL).

NL is just a spark, Atheists need to go outside the confines of this platform, I am sure it will make for a good start should an Atheists column come up in the paper even if it is once a week to discuss burning issues about Societal/Social issues birthed by Religion

Trust me...the editors of the two most selling papers in naija are not gonna even consider atheism in their publications

What have atheists acheived?

Even the muslims have a project- a back to school muslim project to help kids. These are people with *ret&*ded* thinking and they are doing something. They raised about 150k....something that 2 atheists alone can raise in one second.

I want Nl athiests to get nigerians more knowledgeable about religion and especially the limits of tolerance by being more efficient on NL. We should unite for our rights to be treated equally and fairly on NL. We were cheated on our own chatbox....


I am not saying that we should be looking for converts. We should only get people to hear facts. Secular xtians are okay.

First of all, calling people losers is not the best means of getting their positive attention, let alone getting them to collaborate with you.

Second, what exactly do you want nairaland atheists to do? Organise a rally or something?

Now, you should remember that all irreligious nairalanders (mostly atheists) have different mindset from what you would have wished they have. Other than disbelief in religious myths, I dont think we all have every trait in common. Not everyone share your zeal of coming together to organise some big atheistic projects, not in this country. Some will just be content to drop some seeds of reason here and there, and hope some will see the light. I won't call them losers for their own choice.

I personally decided to reduce my participation in religion section because of the hypocritical way Seun is treating atheists. The guy values traffic more than free speech. He is stiffling people who are not christians or muslims (his major source of traffic)

Personnally,I am of the opinion that your mission as a free-thinking irreligious fellow is to show the way, not to push people to go the way. People have to see for themselves and follow the way.

My mission is not to convert anybody to my irreligious stance, but to rub minds with fellow irreligious minds (and maybe some open-minded religious minds), and then perhaps some minds will see the light and drop their myths. But I personally am not the type that will go all out trying to turn religious people into atheists. If you call me a loser for that, I'll take it a compiment.
