Hoyeenz: Oyin, 500L Unilag student. Pharmacy has been interesting, stressful but in all it has been God so far. Memorable day was sometimes last year we told our lecturers that we were not prepared for the exam. We acted our nollywood movie and at last the exam was postponed and we even chose the date we wanted.

As a fresher, u don't av to fear.. U'd hear some RxSchool gist some other times that'd make u want to run away.. #IsNothing.. Just conc on ur PhyChemBio and stuff and make it through to 200L.. I really played during my 100L days tho, cos I knew the crazy days were coming..

Mexx baba, Cognosy is a tough one oo, prolly because our lecturers in that dept are not friendly. Pharmchem by far, then Clinical pharmacy, I'll see how pharmacology look like when I start.

The question is very broad....info on what exactly cos those are three different countries with three different standards.
However,common denominator is that Pharmacy is more rewarding here than home....you can imagine earning an average of$500 per day and average of &$150-200k per annum....you dont want to convert that to Naira right?cos if you did...u'l weep for Pharmacy in Naija

Nope..you don't need a Msc in Pharm to go for PharmD, PharmD is just an extension of B.Pharm, with more clinically-oriented stuff! Ward rounds and all. Takes pharmaceutical care to a whole new level and hence, more patient-oriented. Meaning, it involves more of Clinical and Biopharmacy and less of PharmChem and Cognosy.

Msc in Pharm is however in a class of its own!

Pharmacy curriculum comprise a one year preliminary stage (100L) followed by four years (200L through 500L) tough but interesting Professional stages!

So technically, its a five years program!

And after graduating, you go for internship in any of the areas of Pharmacy (hospital, Community or Industry). After this you go for NYSC, after which you will be given a full license to practise and PSN number to go with it!

pxjosh: Am josh, 200level, pharmD, Uniben. I'm proud to be a px student. I hope the 6yrs for pharmD will worth extra time. I don't like cramming those big names in cognosy, bt i have to. I'm enjoying pharm all d same. There were tough moments..in my pcg exams, i almost went blank lol. Bt i passed thank God. Studyin pharm @uniben requires ur commitment and seriosness to do v.well. Bt all the same, its still worth it at the end of the day

I had a 4.95 in my 100L, hoping to finish with a first when I resumed, but then this 200L first semester has been hell-like.. Ryt now, I don't mind having Atleast a 4.-anything..

Here in unn, the courses are not much. Basically the physics, chem and bio are the main courses. then the Gs courses which are basically english courses and use of english. Then the dreaded mth courses. All in all, the physics, chem, biology, maths are same thing with sec school subjects. once yu get yur foumdations right, yu wouldnt have any problems. trust me.

We joins hands.. More Pcl, less pch and PCG won't be bad.. I suppose the short forms for the courses vary with diff schools. In mine it's pct for Ceutics, PCM for micro, Pcl for clinical, PCG for Cognosy, pch for pharmchem and PHA for pharmacology.. Who has something different?

Varies from school to school. But basically mathematics, physics, chemistry and biology are not to be toyed with.. Chem, phy and bio always have their practicals attached. Physic and Chemistry are four unit courses in my school. Someone in urs can help with that..

In Uniport, its same for PCT, PCG, PCH. PMB - Pharm Micro, PCA - Clinical, PHA - Pharmacology
