When I first heard the story that Coca-Cola once contained cocaine, I was quite curious cos' i cant do without my precious bottle of Coke. I decided to do a little search online and what i found was quite interesting. John Pemberton the inventor of Coca-Cola started by mixing together fruit flavors with extracts from kola nuts (caffeine) and coca leaves (cocaine). Over the years the cocaine content of Coca-Cola was reduced gradually until 1929 when it was completely removed (so we are told). Considering the level of corporate greed and lies going on in the world today, I am beginning to have doubt if indeed coca-cola stopped putting cocaine in its drink.

There are many researches which have linked violent behaviour to coca-cola products especially amongst children. Also, the secrecy surrounding the coca-cola recipe is suspicious. It is said that only two people in the world know the recipe and the formula is kept secretly at a bank vault.

Another thing that really roused my suspicion is the fact that it is illegal to import coca leaves (which is used to make cocaine) into the U.S but Coca-Cola was given an exception. What are they doing with the coca leaves? I still love my chilled bottle of coke but mega corporations should be more transparent in its dealings with consumers especially when you consider the fact that coke is a consumable product.
