I observed that the "lower class" are always mean to each other and unwilling to help each other out whereas the "upper class" are more than willing to help and friendly to each other?

@pickabeau. What I meant is that an "upper class " is willing to help another "upper class" which is not the case with a "lower class" . They hardly help each other.

Well until we know where you are coming or what your agenda is.... i will be watching

However in my experience, it is actually the less privileged that help each other

Dog-eat-Dog-ism is found in the upper strata of society

For example you will see a policeman frustrating an "okada man" for unintentionally break traffic rules. In this regard,I can't see what makes the level 3 police officer better than the okada man. The okada man might even be earning more than him in the longrun. I think that the policeman should be more "mean" to the rich guys who I think can "afford" to bribe him comfortably.. Do you now get ?

I've been observing this thread from the first response. Glory On is right, and chaircover you still don't get.

As the song goes "loving you is easy cos you're beautiful". Aka Lending a helping hand is easy when conditions allow it to be so i.e: person don bellyful

Exceptions might occur but generally like Maslow's theory of needs because the rich have taken care of their basic hunger needs they can afford to focus on less desperate pursuits and be kind to one another.

The poor are perpetually living a dog eat dog existence and so are mean to each other generally thinking only of self.

chaircover:

If you are talking about Nigeria . . . .then not always true.

Go to any party and watch the rich spraying each other . . . .then leave the venue and observe how much if at all these same people who were spraying their already rich friends N1000 notes give to beggars outside.

Mean people cut across all social classes. Meanness comes from within and will always be there regardless of if you have money or not. Go to any big market and see how some of these big madams and oga's treat their staff/sales girls/apprentices.

We as Nigerians need to value life more and actually listen and understand what is being preached in our 3 services on Sunday and 15 midweek services that we go to. May God help us all.

Generally, I do not subscribe to giving able bodied beggars money

Most beggars fare better than the 'begged'

chaircover: In reality the majority of beggers are not able bodied and have one disability or the othe

They are, trust me.

Some have even built houses in the village with the begging profession.

For most, it is a status

A rich man knows he can get some benefit back from another rich person so he would be nice
