A Prayer Of Intercession by manny4life(m): 4:55pm On Oct 06, 2013
My heart is burdened and crying out to God for lives that have been lost recently either due to negligence or natural causes, our country is experiencing dark days, and while we hold our leader accountable, rather than cast blames, I have decided to pray. I'm a firm believer in GOD, the author and finisher of my faith, the ruler of all, and I believe in his promises. I will pray and whether you believe or not, my prayer is for you as well...

Oh Lord, our God
Thank you for your mercies and honor
You're the God to whom all flesh bow unto, Intercession
The God who commanded let there be light,
and there was light, and darkness couldn't comprehend it,
The HOLY ONE of Israel, the ruler of the heavens, and earth and all therein,
Thank you for your love, your peace, your mercies which endures upon us,
We say thank you, because without you, we're nothing.

Our God, darkness seems to becloud us,
Everyday, we hear news that troubles and saddens our heart
I bring before you, all those whom have fallen, not by their own hands
Oh Lord, grant them PEACE, and pave way that their souls may REST WELL
I commit their various families, give them PEACE to bear the loss, IT IS WELL WITH THEM

For we the living, I commit our ways before you, for you said,
Our enemies comes like a roaring lion seeking for whom to devour,
You said, as the number of days a tree is on the surface of the earth,
You promised, SO SHALL OUR DAYS BE, You promised WE SHALL NOT DIE,
We shall LIVE to accomplish your good works, thus Evil, Death, Untimely Sickness WILL NEVER befall us,
I seal and cover ourselves with the blood of Jesus, lead us, direct us, and protect us from all sorts of harm,

I ask all these in name of God... Amen.

What else is new?.

Men and women have been doing this for 2000 yrs or more.Just take a trip to you local hospital tomorrow and see that death and untimely(?) sickness is an important part of the dynamics of life.

Why not just photocopy the above for use over the next several thousand years?

Nice prayer. Hopefully our prayers will begin to translate into action as well. God has blessed Nigeria beyond our imagination and its high time we begin to live up to our potential.

The bolded is true, so it's about time we abandon prayer to skydaddy and begine to use our so-called god-given brains tolive up to our human potentials.
Don't you think?
Re: A Prayer Of Intercession by MissEZ(f): 9:52pm On Oct 06, 2013
Haha...well i am a practicing Christian so i am not in support of abandoning skydaddy as you put it. But the bible is clear that faith without works is dead. As Nigerians, we can pray all we want, but if we do not begin to actively partake in the reformation process, nothing will happen.

Nigerians have the "leave it to God" mentality. A belief in God does not automatically mean failure to take action. I look forward to seeing every citizen, especially the youths who are greatly affected by the state of the country join hands to be a part of the solution. It is highly debatable that such will happen.

I agree with you but even when things are cloudy and seem to not to be working,we shouldn't give up on prayers. Our prayers are not archieved but answered even when we don't see the result.

@Manny,Thanks for the prayer."The scripture says-The sufferring is for yet a while".The things we experience today are will surely have an end.The land is the Lord's,He wouldn't sit idle and watch it fall to destruction. He is always there to set things right and restore all that has been lost.

God bless the op, We really need prayers. 1chron 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways ; then will i hear from heaven, and forgive their sins and heal their land. prov 14:34 Righteousness exalteth a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people May God save Nigeria from the reproach of corruption, kidnapping, prostitution etc in Jesus name. .

Exactly my point, I just felt sad and shed a little tear. A few things happened to me in the month of September/October, after which I reflected on my life and realized that God loves me so much. I'm not saying we shouldn't hold our leaders accountable, heck I want them dealt with, but when things happen, you give thanks to God.

It is a fact that man should no should not shift all responsibilities to God in the name of prayer, faith, seed sowing etc. but take actions to improve his life.

i doubt if Aliko Dangote's success in business has as much to do with prayer as it has to do with making decisions to take profitable actions. he is not even a christian. so which God is blessing him? yet today he has more useful influence on the society than 1000's of the so-called men of God.

yet, prayer is very important. God is in charge of this our universe and it amounts to waste of time and energy to work against His will

Honestly after all we have been through in this country, the truth is that prayer is what is still making us stand.. There are so many things we are lucky not to experience.... WE CAN NEVER EVER EVER EVER STOP PRAYING... Not saying we should hide under the umbrella of prayers and be ignorant about all that is happening around us, but Prayer is what is still making us Stand I REPEAT..

I think Nigerians are actually ninnies. We are slaves and are meant to suffer. Imagine we all know the Genesis of our problems but we stubbornly insist like the goat to pray pray and pray alone. Heaven helps those who help themselves! you hypocrites!!!

The unending prayers and no action is exasperating. Until you're ready to leave the sugarcane plantations, keep praying ehn, God is gonna come down to save ya'll!

I heard two grown people cry on separate radio shows today. Its that terrible. So much poverty in the land and yet so much wealth. Such horror.

I'm sorry, we all are just lowly cowards.

I'm tired abeg!

For you to truly understand the situation that Nigeria finds itself, you have to understand there are spiritual battles currently ongoing in the realm of the spirit. And to be honest with you, the dark one are having the upper hand presently and will fight till death for the light not to shine through. Most of your religious leaders have been brought and the church of christ have been compromised and distracted from spirituality. Look around you and tell me how many youths you see declaring to be a soldier for christ? Instead the church has abandoned its objectives and turning most of our young minds to atheists.
Any cosmetic physical revolution done to deliver can not stand until the revolution is first done with spiritual surgical precision to rescue her from darkness and into the light of my father and only then will you begin to see the true beauty of Nigeria. And righteous men will once again begin to pilot her affairs
The process has already began~ a set of men and women is currently being organized. A generation that will stand up and be counted. Men and women that will march them fire for fire intellectually etc. I'm reaching out to all children of God who are getting called to stand firm and know that Christ will build his church again and the gates of hell shall not prevail. I leave with a glimpse of the nature of the job at hand~acts 19:20. God be with US all.
