Kano Pillars head coach, Mohammed Baba Ganaru has
said his wards will beat Enyimba for the three points in
the rescheduled Glo Premier League Matchday 31 tie
at the Confluence Stadium, Lokoja on Wednesday. The nation’s final arbiter on domestic football, the NFF
Appeals Committee on Thursday upturned the
organising and disciplinary committee's decision to
award three points and three goals to the Aba
Billionaires in the contentious game by ordering both
sides to return to the pitch to decide the winners. The League Management Company had earlier ruled
for a replay of the encounter on September 29 at the
Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos. Kano Pillars were one goal up scored by prolific
striker, Gambo Mohammed in the 83rd minute before
crowd trouble forced the game to an abrupt end but
when both sides reconvene on Wednesday for the
replay the game will go on for 90 minutes. Ganaru said his side are not bothered where the
replay takes place as he is confident they will certainly
win the three points at stake. “I’m certain that my wards will beat Enyimba for the
three points any day, anywhere, any place the game
is played. “So we’re not worried, we just have to go back to our
armoury to fashion out a suitable weapon that will
decision Enyimba, the replay order is an opportunity
for us to re-confirm our supremacy in the game before
it was disrupted. “We have our focus intact and will fight hard to defend
the league shield we won last year,” said Ganaru to
supersport.com. An official of the Pyramid City side, Idris Malikawa said
the rescheduled game will decide the winners of the
ongoing league season. “It’s pointless to argue whether one likes or dislikes
the decision of the NFF Appeals Committee knowing
quite well the body is the final arbiter, we’ve decided
to work within the ambit of their decision to prepare
for the replay order. “The rescheduled match will definitely be the final
before the final, it won’t be easy to replay the game
against a formidable side like Enyimba. “We’ve accepted the replay order as a tough
challenge, we have to re-plan and motivate the
players. I know Allah will see us through win the three
points,” said Malikawa to supersport.com. The NFF Appeals Committee’s decision has seen
Enyimba dropped to the fourth position from the
hitherto top spot on 56 points behind leaders, Bayelsa
United and Kano Pillars.
