Nice Topic.

Way back in the day I had to travel by road from Jos to Lagos as all flights were cancelled due to harmattan.
I travelled with a guy I'd met at the taxi park in Jos and whom I did not know from Adam. On getting to Benin
dusk was closing in and there was no way I'd get to Lagos before nightfall. The guy who lived in Benin offered me
a bed for the night in his house. Given we'd only met that day I was really touched and grateful. We continued to stay
in touch for several years, Usman thanks a lot.

Yeah, nice topic.

I had to travel urgently to Jos late last year. I had depended on Nicon airways (they offered rebate tickets) only to call them to book and be told that their licence had been suspended by the authorities. I had no other choice but arik air. On getting to their stand at the International airport, i was told that flights to Jos were from the Old local airport and only flights to abuja took off from the international airport and that i had less than 15mins before the plane departs.

I then rushed outside to pick a cab. The dude charged me 3,500 naira just to drop me at the local airport from international airport. I begged the dude, flashed my nysc id card, the guy wont reconsider. All i had on me was the money i had budgeted for a DIRECT flight from lagos to jos.

After coughing out the money, i got to the local airport and i had missed the flight to jos. I had to buy chachangi's ticket to abuja. They offered no rebate. This meant i had to board a cab from abuja airport to jabi park before then joining a vehicle to jos.

With a gloomy face, i boarded the flight, thinking of how much i would pay to those greedy abuja airport cab drivers (this would leave me with very little or no money to get to jos) and it is almost impossible to 'stroll' out of abuja airport to the major road.

To cut the story short, an elderly man sat beside me on the plane and he started a conversation and we ended up talking about the crazy air fares, missed flights, air mishaps, etc. Told him my experience that morning. He just laughed and told me to serve my country and stay put at jos. Anyway, he asked his driver to drop me at jabi park and even paid my fare to Jos. God bless him because without him that day, being cash strapped with just my cab fare to jos, i do not know how i would have left abuja airport.

I was in shopping mall in northern Malaysia: Kota Bharu.

This is purely a muslim town. It reminded me of Ibadan but much more developed.

Some group of  mean-looking-people saw me and started shouting at me: AMERICANA. AMERICANA

I was scared to death; I don't want to be kidnapped or Bombed. What would I tell my mama in Naija.

I shouted back: NO, NO NO. No Americana

Nigeria, Nigeriana. Nigerian. Africa.

The shop owner said Okocha? I said yes. Nigeriana. He talked to them.

Funny enough: they left me alone. I got out town with next available flight back to KL.
grin grin grin

i bought a return ticket 4rm Lufthansa to travel to Warsaw in Poland.so when i got to Frankfurt at about 5am and join the next flight to war saw by 7.15am the immigration officer said i cant fly to Warsaw via Frankfurt because i don't have a schengen visa,so i have to return back to Lagos.i went to the the Lufthansa office in Frankfurt airport and i was told there is nothing they could do except if i would pay for another ticket which would cost 829euro.they will now change my journey to zurich to Warsaw, after enough confrontation they insist that i have to pay that money. When it got to about 8pm or thereabout and way out for me,am ready thinking about going back home because i cant avoid that kind of money after getting the ticket from Lagos for about 178k.A German (Mr Will Cron) a Lufthansa staff at Frankfurt station came to my aid and change the ticket without collecting a damn from me.i ve sent an email to him but he didn't reply any.
Mr Will Cron,i will everly remain grateful to you.
