OGWASHI-UKWU CARNIVAL ..., is a unique Carnival in every way and one of its unique attractions that distinguishes it from other carnivals is the Creative ingenuity of the initiator through the use of AKWA-OCHA fused with a superb blend of western carnival assemblage to produce a truly unique Carnival costume like never seen anywhere else in the world
AKWA-OCHA is a prominent traditional attire worn mainly in the ANIOMA region of Delta –state of Nigeria ,which includes Ogwashi-Ukwu Kingdom
The carnival started December 25th, 2010 and since then it has become a yearly 3 days event of fun and brotherhood, It is a carnival initiated to promote, not just the cultural heritage of the people of Ogwashi-ikwu kingdom but to sustain the cultural legacy that has existed among the people through dancing as well as to revive the spirit of unity and cooperation among the indigenes, both in Nigeria and the world at large.

Venue : Ani-Nshi Sports Field otherwise known as CARNIVAL ARENA , Ogwashi-Uku, Delta state, Nigeria


AIM’S AND OBJECTIVES OF THE CARNIVAL
THE AIM’S OF THE CARNIVAL IS TO REVIVE AND SHOW CASE THE CULTURE OF OGWASHI-UKWU TO THE WORLD AS WELL AS THE BEAUTY OF THE OGWASHI HERITAGE FOR SUSTAINABILITY.BY THE YOUNGER GENERATION.


THE OBJECTIVES
THE CARNIVAL IS EXPECTED TO ENHANCE BROTHERHOOD AMONG THE GOOD PEOPLE OF OGWASHI-UKWU IN ORDER TO ACHIEVE DEVELOPMENT IN THEIR KINGDOM.
