Discussion: it seems to me that during islamic holidays, we the Christians tend to be more Islam than the moslems. We post "barka da sallah, eid mubarak" etc and crave to eat ram. At least I lived in an islamic state for 2yrs....during christian holidays, the moslems just go about their normal lives. Through out that time I never heard a moslem wishing a Christian "happy easter or merry Christmas" talkless of craving to eat chicken or hyping the celebrations. A typical hausa radio station will not even mention to take note that its a Christian holiday, but barka this and sallah that are all over our airwaves in the south. I was more dismayed when inside church, a pastor wished his congregation, happy sallah:/ and asked how their sallah holiday was faring! Pls note that I do not hate the moslems as a people...but we the Christians are loosing it. As Christians, we should not condescend to pagan worship. The blood of Jesus in the new testament had replaced the blood of sheep(ram) in the old testaments. The prophets of old and the children of Isreal used these animals as sacrifice/burnt offering but later even God didn't find pleasure in them anymore. Isaiah 64:6 says "...our sacrifices are like filthy rags before Him" and commanded us to worship Him in spirit and in truth(John 4:24), looking unto Jesus, the Author and finisher of our faith(Heb 12:2). The question arises......should we really celebrate with moslems? Note that this is a religious holiday and what ever the moslems do or say during this period is religiously and spiritually significant...including the shedding of sheep blood. And our Bible teaches us in Psalm 1:1. Blessed is the man that walketh not (or celebrates) in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth (or celebrates) in the way of sinners, nor sitteth (or celebrates) in the seats of the scornful. Pls note that we must not all accept these thoughts. All opinions are entirely personal without any intent to hate or discriminate.

THIS IS PAGAN CELEBRATION OF THE HIGHEST ORDER, SACRIFICTION OF ANIMAL IS NO LONGER NEEDED OR ACCEPTED BY GOD AS MEANS OF WORSHIP.
