Nigerian star singer, Davido tweeted yesterday that the video of his hit single “skelewu” released online wasn’t the official one and someone betrayed him by releasing it. He also said he’s re-shooting the video with UK based music video director Moe Musa. Here’s the official statement from the music video director, Sesan regarding the Skelewu video which was released yesterday shot by him.

Below his Sesan statement:

My attention is drawn toward the chaos surrounding the release of the Skelewu video .
Myself and my team shot the video for Davido in Nigeria and to the best of my knowledge my client and his team were very happy with the result, when they watched/ and approved the video. If he has since had a change of heart, that is ok. I am not in any way responsible for the release of the video. I believe Davido and myself did a very good job regarding the video production and as a professional of over 10 years. I find it very irresponsible and immature if my client and his management publicly put out false statements/comments, in an attempt to tarnish my name, credibility and reputation.

I remain dedicated, humble, focused and as hard working as ever. Thank you to all my fans and industry professionals –

But that was not cool of Davido though, obviously the leaked video was not a rough cut but a mastered video meaning he was satisfied with it initially. That the public did not warm up to it does not mean he should make it look like Sesan did a shoddy job.

Can you believe that?? Laughable! Another mala dey the end of the video, e dey chop fried rice and shaking his head. The video is crap.

All na Publicity stunt! Davido is heartless sha, promoting his song at the expense of someone else's career.Chai!

The fact that I agreed with some people who
are of the opinion that Davido did well by
yielding to the yearnings of the people who
criticized the video. We should not shy away
from the fact that he went about it in a
wrong way. I can confirm that the video was
supposed to be the official video and was
released by Davidos camp who claimed it
was leaked because some people expressed
disatisfaction about the video. He can't
handle the the pressure hence he made
Sesan the scape goat. No matter who directed the video people will always criticize it cos not everybody love david. And its normal for people to throw jabs at you even if uve done the best that's our nature here. Sesan has a good profile as far as am concerned and I personally don't think Moe Musa is better. They are both top notch director. Davido is just a rich kid who approached the issue like a kid.
