ça va bien mon cher et vous?
Re: Who Knows French Better Than I? by Nobody: 12:39pm On Oct 20, 2013

@tous

Bénise, you should write Ma cherie instead of mon cher, tu devrais ecriver "ma cherie" en place de "mon cher".

Fulaman198: Bénise, you should write Ma cherie instead of mon cher, tu devrais ecriver "ma cherie" en place de "mon cher".

"ma chérie" is specifically for a girlfriend, and certainly not for a stranger, or even a friend. you cant translate "my dear" words for words, and expect it to make sense.....so, the proper translation for what you wrote should have been: tu aurais dû ecrire "ma cherie" au lieu (à la place) de "mon cher".

la seule difficulté avec le francais est de savoir où placer les mots. certaines fois, tous les mots sont dans une phrase mais au mauvais endroit.

Où placer ? You need a verb before placer. Certaines fois should be quelques fois ou dis temps en temps.

lol, placer IS the verb, duh! placer means to position, so "où placer" means where to position..........as for "certaines fois", you are also wrong. it could be anything you want, as the French language is very extensive, but "certaines fois" is definitely NOT wrong.....i could have also wrote "parfois", "des fois", "de temps à autre", "quelques fois" et "de temps en temps" (not "dis temps en temps" ).
