According to the book of exodus chapter 20 vs 3-5(to lay emphasis on the importance of the commandment it was further explained) it says,
"Thou shalll not make your selves any idols or any image,you MUST NEVER BOW DOWN TO IT OR WORSHIP IT IN ANY WAY." In my own opinion I think this is flaunting the second commandment without remorse.
I think these should be looked into since all christians say they worship the living God and obey he's commandment,part of the commandment should not be abandoned in other to satisfy our own human ideology of communicating to God.

Is it impossible to kneel before a statue and pray to God?

...just like I see pentecostal friends kneel, hold their Bible high and pray...is it impossible that they can kneel before a Bible and pray to God?

Or should I just assume that they are worshiping their Bible when they do that?

Do not worry about Catholics coming to defend themselves darling, it is already an over flogged issue on NL, and they have not been found wanting in the defense of their practice. If God has decided to distinguish a place of contact with him by the presence of cherubs Ex 25:19, then it is possible to worship the true God in spirit while in the presence of an Image connected to Him, and without worshiping the image. Catholic all over say they do not worship Mary, St.Paul, St. Anthony, St. Teresa etc nor do they worship their images. Catholics worship God and God alone, in the sense of "worship" that is Adoration.

You said she prayed to the statue, not Mary. So I asked, how did you know she prayed to the statue?

Also are you aware that when we say "Hail Mary," we are repeating the words of God's angel. Are you saying God sent his angel to come to earth and worship Mary?

You are saying that Joshua and the Israelites worshipped images when he prostrated before the Ark of the covenant in Joshua 7:6?

You are saying if someone holds the Bible high and kneels beneath it in prayer, it is okay? But if he bows beneath it, thats when it becomes worship?

If you kneel before you parents its okay, but if you bow before them, you worship them?

Or do you think its only images that can be worshipped?

Are you sure of all these you're saying?

Are you willing to learn with an open mind or have you made up your mind that all the images we have in our churches are our Gods?
