An Analysis On APC And PDP by ibrahim007: 2:42pm On Oct 29, 2013
I might be a JOHN in political science but without much ado i can categorically assert that Nigeria is a nation run by criminal syndicates in a Cosa Nostra style. The wee bit of analysis i intend to discuss is engendered by my study of the Nigerian Political system over the years as a citizen, the aim of my analysis is to point out the lesser evil of the two political parties. Therefore, i enjoin prospective contributors to chip in their 2 cents on my analysis.

NOTE: Any mentally defective human being that throws in tribal sentiments or insults to this thread does this at the expense of their gross stupidity.

PDP

The People's Democratic Party is a political party in Nigeria. Its policies generally lie towards the right wing of the political spectrum. It has won every Presidential election since 1999, and is the dominant party in the Fourth Republic amidst controversial circumstances.

IDEALOGY

The PDP is the only National Party formed since 1999 prior to the birth of APC. Though, it is speculated that the party was formed by veterans in politics and in the military but financed massively by corrupt leaders in the name of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, General Ibrahim Babangida amongst others at the time of its birth. However, i actually do not have a problem with the party's goal or its founding fathers (amongst which a few honorable men existed)but i think the PDP was hijacked by criminal syndicates who invested their loots into the party and were allowed to reap the dividends of their investment. I envisage this happened because money is the engine oil to achieve optimization from political machines which i'm not against because this is the case in the world today, so for a party setting out with the determination to conquer nationally it is almost impossible to accept the Mafia's offer(the loot). I think that's the connection and the reason why we find many miscreants such as David Mark(a man alleged to have lead a delegation of army generals to scuttle the electoral success of Chief Abiola who later died in detention) and other IBB boys such as Ibori and co in government today who readily do the bidding of their Godfathers who paved the way for them. What i can deduce from this is that the PDP at its inception was a good party with good intentions for Nigerians but it was hijacked by criminal syndicates probably because of the fear of prosecution or to further their corruption goal i don't know but this ushered in the corruption epidemic again and a lot of other evils ranging from murders, looting, election rigging, crippling of the Nigerian Educational Sytem. The only good thing about the PDP is that its a National Party, that is the uniqueness the PDP's got but the evil perpetrated by criminal elements within the party has overshadowed that.

APC

The party is the result of an alliance by Nigeria's four biggest opposition parties - the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP), and the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) - merged to take on the People's Democratic Party. The resolution was signed by Tom Ikimi, the current spokesman for the party, who represented the ACN; Senator Annie Okonkwo on behalf of the APGA; former governor of Kano State, Mallam Ibrahim Shekarau, the Chairman of ANPP's Merger Committee; and Garba Sadi, the Chairman of CPC's Merger Committee.

IDEOLOGY

This party is bound to fail and can't stand the test of time, it might initially oust the PDP at the federal level but it will later reveal what it stands for when they're given the chance to rule. Its era in government will usher in politics of region and interest just like the days of Sardauna, Awolowo and Zik. The structure of the party makes it very vulnerable to the divide and conquer strategy, with or without a very determined mastermind can break the party and once a region leaves the did is done. The unity of the party lies in the interest of different regions which will likely conflict, another question is where will the almighty kleptomaniac Tinubu fit in?. I have always said APC is Tinubu's lifesaver, had it been his party did not join the alliance it will fail woefully at the next coming general elections. Why?, the south-west already knows Tinubu's agenda no doubt about that and also the party has produced average performing governors like the PDP who're also thieves but i take Fashola's first term performance out he's their Joker. Tinubu's agenda is the reason why ACN failed woefully at the Ondo Gubernatorial Election where he imposed a candidate on the party, guy's cup is full in the south-west and i'm of the strong conviction that he knows that himself and that's the reason he accepted the alliance to change the face of the party and further his loot at the Federal level. A man at just regional level he's doing wonders, he'll do fantastic at the federal level i'm pretty sure. grin.
