I used to know a man in my secondary school days. He was one of my subject teachers. He was popularly refered to as and called chief. This man was not rich in fact it was in the days when teachers used to suffer. The man did not have any chiefly appearance at all but yet he was a chief. However I got to learn that the title bestowed on him was not because he was rich or otherwise but it was because the chieftancy title was domiciled in his family. This is to tell everyone who cares to hear that if this woman's grandmother and great grand mother were Iyalojas even before Tinubu her father came into politics, of course the title may be of family linage rather than through election or what have you as it applies to many traditional title in yoruba land. If you are resident in Lagos all your life and not in other more conservative yoruba state and kingdom you may not know about family chieftancy inheritance.
