Okada Riders Flouts Lagos Law On Restricted Routes by bigass(f): 2:19am On Oct 30, 2013
The restriction order placed on the operation of commercial motorcyclists on certain roads in the Lagos metropolis by the Lagos State Government is now being flouted by some motorcyclists and security agents.

According to reports, the motorcyclists were now in the habit of plying some of the restricted roads with ease. They are now said to be plying parts of Costain, Funsho Williams Avenue, Ojuelegba, Mobil Road, Apapa and the Ikorodu Road without any fear of being arrested.

The law enforcement agents, in particular, were found to be the major offenders on these restricted routes, as they were always on the roads, without even wearing the usual crash helmets.

An Army Sergeant, who did not want his name mentioned, said that the motorcycle was the only source of transportation for him to be able to get to his office on time.

“How do you expect me to be wasting my precious time

They should just add more tyres to their okada to confuse the police. Can't arrest me if you're not sure what i'm driving.

#TeamOkada all the way.

Still the fastest way to get about in Lagos.

Fly Okada Air Today.

The federal ministry of health warns that okada riders are liable to die young, lose limbs, get arrested, or fight with other motorists.

Create and alternative means of livelihood for them
and they will leave Okada business.

However, all Okada riders should abide by the laws.

Nigeria laws only exist on paper, I know this law will not last long because only the law makers will be the first to violate it.
