Why is United Bank For africa (UBA) service charge so outrageous and unimaginable . I can imagine UBA deduct uneplainable amount of moneey from my Current Account in the name of service charge.

Finally, I got a taste of Bad Customer service from UBA. I used to be a crusader for UBA, but I now agree with most nlanders that the bank doesn't no what CS is all about. The NRN aka NRA dorm account banking is so ridiculous that they failed to transfer money on time. I contacted them after a week of waiting endlessly for my money. I was not only on the phone for them for more than an hour, they came up with ridiculous excuses like, Form M, Form A, Proof of insurance (for what), invoice of good sold. I now understand why small biz can't survive in Naija. UBA cost my biz $25/day late fee. Thanks United Bank for Africa (indeed)

A CUSTOMER RECENTLY PAID FOR PRODUCT SUPPLIED THRU' ONE OF THEIR BRANCHES. THE FOLLOWING DAY WHEN I WENT TO CONFIRM D PAYMENT THEY HAD REMOVED ONE PERCENT OF THE TOTAL SUM CLAIMING IT WAS HANDLING CHARGE. ALL MY LETTERS OF COMPLAINTS TO THEM REMAINED UNREPLIED.
THEY TOOK AWAY ALL MY PROFIT AND EVEN PART OF THE CAPITAL. I WILL FOREVER REGRET D DAY I OPENED THAT ACCOUNT WITH THEM.

That was indeed a terrible experience. I feel for you. But, you need to sample peoples' opinion on places like this before transacting with the bank

IN FACT,TO ADD INSULT TO MY INJURY,ONE OF THEIR STAFF ADVISED THAT I SHOULD PLACE THE MONEY IN A FIXED ACCOUNT PENDING THE RESOLUTION OF MY COMPLAINTS WHICH I AGREED WITH. AT THE END OF THE 30 DAYS, I WAS SHOCKED TO SEE THAT OVER EIGHTY PERCENT OF THE SUPPOSED INTEREST ON THE FIXED SUM HAD BEEN DEDUCTED AS COT!!! COT ON THE SUM THAT THEY MOVED FROM MY ACCOUNT TO FIXED ACCOUNT WITHIN THE SAME BRANCH AND THE SAME BANK!!! IT WAS REALLY SHOCKING.
I HAVE BEEN BANKING WITH THEM FOR OVER TEN YEARS.
I HAVE MOVED ON WITH MY LIFE.

My guy,it is true.UBA is really not acting like the
''father bank'' they are suppose to and with this
they are chasing their custiomers away in the name
of Account Services.

Infact,recently I have withdrew all my money from UBA,
they want to ''kill me with unsolicited account looting''
I mean they debit people's account ''nonsenselly''.

But my fear is that I think this bad omen is coming
from their staff from their various branches and not
from the headquarters.

They should be careful not to soil the beautiful
name they have painstkingly acquired in the last
few years.

Ecobank seems to be following suit.I had to pull out my money about a year ago and yet, they still send me account statement and i am currently owing them N7,128 for ATM charges that i never utilized for one day.Imagine the rubbish!
