53 Nigerians Arrested For Protesting In India by Nobody: 11:20pm On Oct 31, 2013
Goa, India - Fifty three Nigerians were
detained today after a mob of about 200 of
them blocked a National Highway over the
death of a fellow national, prompting the
Goa government to announce a major crack-
down on foreign nationals living in the state
without proper documents.
The mob blocked highway after allegedly
ransacking the police hearse van that was
carrying the body of a Nigerian, who was found
dead with multiple stab wounds last night, police
said.
Following the incident, the police would comb the
entire state and locate Nigerians and other
foreign nationals staying without visa and other
documentation.
Police officers said that the murder was fall-out of
a gang rivalry in the drug trade.
Of the 53 Nigerians who were detained today,
those involved in the ruckus would be arrested
and the documents of others would be verified,
the police said.
Locals people were said to have brutally beaten
up two Nigerians protesting on the road, who
were admitted to the district hospital. Locals who
assaulted the Nigerians would also be booked, the
assured.

I hear lately from a friend who lives in India that nigerians are been humiliated and even killed in india. He told me of a particular nigerian dude who got drunk and was attempting to rape an Indian woman. He was caught immediately and beaten mercilessly. The angry Indians who heard what happened decided to take laws into their hands and beat every nigerian they came across. Their properties were also looted in the process and the nigerians scampered for safety. The indian police didn't help matters as they did mass arrest of nigerians and threw them behind bars. It took the intervention of the nigerian embassy in India to bail them all out.

Sometime last year, 3 nigerians robbed and killed an Indian man in India. The Indian man operates a western union money transfer unit and he was killed in his office. Unluckily for the robbers, they were caught and arrested. That incident caused an uproar in India and many Nigerians were either arrested or deported.

Nigerians should learn to respect their host in foreign countries and stay away from crime. The embarrassment is getting annoying and an insult to Nigeria.

Blocking an highway in order to protest the death of a drug dealer?
Why can't they think critically ?
The other day, they were smashing up an embassy.

Must you always throw insults? Simply say the deceased wasn't a drug dealer instead of abusing someone. Datz all! angry

I need to confirm from my friend in India if truly the deceased was a drug dealer.

and you've proven to be less cerebral than the brainless guy!

This is a public forum where every opinion and view are welcomed. You have no right whatsoever to abuse him base on his opinion.

@topic. Though there should be a protest, but things should be done with caution in a foreign land.
