Abia Lifts Embargo On Employment by Nobody: 2:08pm On Nov 02, 2013
GOVERNOR Theodore Orji of Abia State has approved waiver for employment in the state civil service.
According to Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr. Charles Ajunwa, the decision was taken by the Government to reposition the state’s economy.
The decision, he explained was taken by the State Executive Council had last.
In a statement, Ajunwa named those to benefit from the waiver for employment to include Abians, especially youths and those who returned from the northern part of the country because of security problems.
Others to benefit from the waiver for employment, according to him, are non-indigenes disengaged from the state’s civil service in 2011.
It would be recalled that in apparent response to continued shortfall in revenue accruable to the state, the state government had placed an embargo on employment of civil servants.
The Government’s job embargo pitched the state against fresh graduates desirous of employment; the big hammer fell mostly on no- indigenes that were disengaged to allow the state sufficient leverage to recover from an imminent financial distress.
However, Governor Orji has said that an appreciable increase in the state’s Internally Generated Revenue has offered him an opportunity to absorb fresh graduates with special consideration for non-indigenes who were disengaged from the State Civil service in 2011.
The Government has therefore the Governor inaugurated a committee headed by the state’s Head of Service, Mr. G.C. Adiele, Chief of Staff to Governor, Mr. Cosmos Ndukwe, Commissioner for Education and Commissioner for Youth Development, to work out modalities for a successful execution of the pronouncement.
Also, the Government has also inaugurated a Strategy Committee for the building of an Airport in the State.

What is this policy somersault with this oldie? Today you disengage non-indigenes, tomorrow you re-absorb them. What is the govt doing about the state of Aba roads?

This man is really on Hard drugs. Once he wakes up from his hallucination, he would find a white Elephant project to occupy his fancy. You never complete a single road for aba, na airport you wan come build sho?

All means to embezzle more money and suffocate abia's economy before he leaves that seat.

Fraudsters at what they know best. A grade level 04 job in the LGs is sold for about 100k. Nurses were defrauded of as much as 200k in the just concluded ABSUTH job interview. Many Abians are not even aware of this. T.A has just created an opportunity for his men to scam Abians. Where is the money to pay them? Pay the ones who are already employed first. Dubious governor.

It's good to know that the non-indigenes that were sacked have been re-absorbed.

Orji should forget airport for now and fix the roads. he doesn't have the mental capacity to setup an airport.

This man's cluelessness has been unprecedented in human history. A state that owes its workers several months salary, (Ask Abia poly staff, primary school teachers, Local government staff, nurses aand health workers) the roads in Aba are still a mess. From Osisioma to Ekeakpara isn't motorable, infact people pass through Geometrics road to get into the Ekeakpara side. Is it Ngwa road, is Faulks road through Ariaria (to mention just a few). Sam Mbakwe airport is still close and doesnt record heavy air traffic, the Omagwa airport is still very much around, these airports for now will be ok for Abia passengers, now tell me what justification does he have to even dream about an airport. Woe betide you, you are in Ariairia and it rains, you will understand what having daft governor means. These traders pay huge amount of money in levies, yet the market is so messed up.

I have said over and over again, that T.A Orji needs a brain transplant. He sacked non-indigenes to be able to meet the state's financial obligations, even the indigenes that were remaining, were they paid as at when due?

Airport ko, waterway ni, this is just another ponzi scheme to eternally mortgage the financial future of Abians.

Na wa for dis man o. Instead of fixing the roads and opening the state for private investors to create more jobs, he's thinking of airport! Anyway I go soon pack my bag comot for here come February.

I See Lots Of Administrative Improvement in Abia, the Governor has Suddenly Woken up.

I'd Suggest He Concentrates more on Road Construction and Rehabilitation Than other wasteful Unnecessary Ventures!

It's a pity for people to even listen to the fraudster and most corrupt politician of our time called T.A. Orji. Imagine a state that cannot even implement minimum wage properly. Not Local Government election since 2007 till date. Huge deductions from state civil servants, bad roads in Aba and environs, victimization of percieved enemies, capital flight, no capital project in the state and personalization of SURE-P funds. While will he disengage non-indigene and re-engaged them when he is about to leave Office. He want to creat problem for the next Governor of the state. It's only a daft or better still an outsider that does not know that T.A. Orji is the worst Governor in the history of Nigeria not even Eastern part of the country. T.A Orji is a disgrace to all the Governors in Nigeria. Imagine Akwa-Ibom state constructing their own end of state road to the boundary between Abia and Akwa-Ibom but what did T.A do from Ikwuano to Umuahia? Absolutely nothing rather mere propaganda, anyway, Abia as a state is not lucky with leaders.

May your bigoted brain perpetually be stunted. Instead of you to be objective, you come in here throwing tribalistic tantrum. Condemn what is bad and applaud what is good, not become tribalistc. What has Igbo got to do with T. Oeji's non-perfomance, is Chime not Igbo, who is crucifying him?
If you have nothing to say just shut your mouth (keyboard).

Lastly, its always better to keep quiet and be thought a f000l than talk (type) and erase all elements of doubts.
