2. Multiply by 5.
3. Add 50.
4. Multiply by 20.
5. Add 1013
6. Subtract the year that you were born. The first 2 digits are your shoe size while the last 2 digits are your age.

Adding 1013 essentially adds the "13" in 2013 to a number with zeros as its unit and tenth. So, there's no surprise getting one's age after subtracting "the year that you were born".
The supposed magic will lie in not involving the year one is born.
Just to confirm that this is gibberish. It won't work for someone born in 1912, for example! The trick is in adding 50 and multiplying by 20. undecided
