It is very sad that the man that carved the FESTAC '77 mask is yet to be paid by the government. The Edo man who brought Nigeria to the world stage of art is currently living in abject poverty and with serious health challenges. In a recent visit to his house (which is in a terrible state), he narrates his plights and ideas kept under his pillow because of lack of funds. (See video below)
