All things being equal, out of favour Super Eagles players like controversial Osaze Odemwingie, Taye Taiwo and Ikechukwu Uche may have another chance to play for the national team ahead of the 2014 World Cup scheduled for Brazil. This follows Eagles’ head coach, Stephen Keshi’s disclosure to supersport.com that he may extend invitation to the trio to the national team ahead of the 2014 Fifa World Cup in Brazil. The “Big Boss” as Keshi is fondly called has now revealed that he has not shut the door completely on any individual as he begins preparations for the World Cup. “Contrary to what some people think, I have not shut the door on players like Osaze (Peter Odemwingie), Ike Uche and even Taiye Taiwo. They are Nigerians and are eligible to play for the Super Eagles at all times,” Keshi said. The gaffer however stated that they will only get a look in if they “prove themselves.” “When I was in the national team, nobody had an automatic shirt. I was the captain but I did not play in all the games. “Everyday in training, it was war. We fought and sweated to show the coaches that we were worthy of the shirt. This is a good development and it really shows that keshi knows that we need more experienced prayers on the turf . Yes we won nations cup without the trio , what about the confederation's cup? We had the determinations to win, but we lagged exposure and experience to accomplish it. With these trio , many chances would ve be converted into goals, especially against Spain. On the contrary I feel for those that tolled hard for the qualification that would be dropped , respect to them, it happens all over the world. This isn't about them, its about the 160,000,000 Nigerians. We might not be able to win the trophy with these added to the team, but at least We're not going to be a work over to other teams. Personally dont like osazee's attitude, but whenever I look back to his performance and 2cent contributions at d Beijing Olympic, and other previous matches he had played for us, I would say to forgive is divine. We dont need Osaze's negative energy in that team. He is trouble both locally and internationally and it has been proven. There are other sound cool headed strikers. Pls forget about Osaze. |

This is a bad development, Osaze is a NO, NO... We can still bear with IK and Taiwo... Osaze is a bad influence, he ll cause division in that team like he has been doing. This is the first time in a long while that stability has returned to the super eagles... We don't need Osaze negative energy.. We may start having fraction and cabal in that team if Osaze returns. It reminds me of those days of Okocha, Kanu and Yobo... They were players who were all loyal and obey just these 'big boys' alone... The big boys were above the law.. The only football Osaze play these days is only on his Twitter Timeline, abi no be same Osaze that attempted to tap himself away from west brom He rarely makes the Cardiff bench now.. |

ochilikoko: It will be awsome to see this guys play 4 super eagles againKeshi called these guys because of the pressure mounted on him by Nigerians,I believe he will test them with friendly games,Osaze has got upper hand because he might replace Ideye.But it will difficult for Keshi to drop any of his boys,let's see how it all goes. |

This' a welcome development to the Super Eagles. I've been wanting to see TT play for Nigeria again. Echiejele is trying though, but we still need people like Taiwo. I'll also love to see IK Uche in the National team. I don't know the reason why people have developed hatred for Osaze, the Guy is also a good player, but his Ego needs to be relieved. |
