Since the 80's when i was born,i was taught how to write and speak the Igbo language.i know through d years that dias nothing like "ibo" but nowadays,people refer to south easterners as "ibo people". so,which is correct(IGBO or IBO) and why/how? |

The correct thing is Igbo.. Ibo is the western spelling of it. This kind of thing appears all the time. In igbo, and hausa especially. |

It depends on who you interacting with. If you interacting with the westerners, better say yiibo, if you say igbo they might mistook it for indian hemp. Generally, igbo is the right word. |
