EKET – A Prominent Senatorial hopeful in Eket Senatorial district, Bishop Samuel Akpan, has said that Contrary to rumors of his withdrawal from his race, his aspiration and people’s mandate remain intact and
on a steady course. He reaffirmed this fact while speaking at the funeral service of his Mother-In-Law, Late Madam Cecilia Sunday Oduok, at St. Gregory’s Primary school, Ikot Ebok, Eket
recently.

Bishop Akpan described as false the insinuations that he has been persuaded by Governor Godswill Akpabio to abandon his ambition, adding that the Governor has never interfered in the 2011 electoral process.
“God and every other person, including my late mother-in-law, support my senatorial bid and I cannot but proceed”, he told his numerous supporters. Bishop Akpan said that there was need for a change so that the
area could also derive some benefits from Nigeria’s Democratic rule, adding that poor representation negates development.

He extolled the virtue of his departed mother-in-law whom he described as kindhearted, courageous and hardworking while alive. Bishop Akpan thanked the State Governor, Chief Godswill Akpabio, for honoring the
bereaved family by attending the burial. The First daughter of the deceased, Mrs. Vivian Akpan had, in a biography praised her late mother’s principles which she noted, centered on justice, charity, truth and
community service. Condolence messages were received from numerous religions and political bodies including AKPF and Bishop Samuel Akpan’s Vanguard.

EKET- A socio-political Organization, Bishop Samuel Akpan’s Vanguard (BSAV) has re-affirmed its commitment to the actualization of Governor Godswill Akpabio’s Second term and Bishop Samuel Akpan’s
election into the senate in 2011.
The Organization which made its position known through its international co-ordinator, Elder Edet Albert, after an enlarged council meeting held recently at Eket, said the decision to join forces with other groups to
ensure the realization of the Governor’s second term mission was born out of he firm conviction that Akwa Ibom State would attain an enviable position at the end of the eight- year tenure of Chief Akpabio.
Elder Albert, who expressed satisfaction over the rapid growth of the body in the state, said already, chapters have been established in Rivers, Cross River, Abia, Bayelsa, Lagos and
Kaduna States. He pointed out that the organization was irrevocably committed to Governor Akapio’s second term project and Bishop Samuel Akpan’s election as Senator in 2011.
Elder Albert further lauded the Governor for ensuring the unity of Akwa Ibom through equitable distribution of projects and political offices among the various segments of the State,
stressing that such gesture has resulted in the Overwhelming support currently expressed by the people towards the Governor’s second term aspiration.
The International Coordinator of BSAV, on behalf of members congratulated Bishop Akpan on his 53rd Birthday and prayed God to grant him, his family and teaming supporters the needed
wisdom and protection.
Earlier in his welcome address, the State director of media and strategy, Mr. Solomon Umanah, said the group was a highly principled organization whose belief in transparency,
equity and the unity of Akwa Ibom was unwavering. Mr. Umanah who is also the Chairman of the organization’s technical committee, expressed optimism that the duo of Governor
Godswill Akpabio and Bishop Akpan will occupy their destined political offices in 2011.

In his speech, the director of Security/Mobilization, Mr. Etienne Bob, appealed to the members to re-double their efforts by constantly sensitizing the people at the grassroots of
Government’s policies and programmes as well as Bishop Akpan’s Senatorial bid, assuring that the Governor’s development drive has already paved the way for his re-election next
year. Highlight of the occasion was the presentation of the organization’s action plan by the chairman of the technical committee, assisted by other members of the five-man committee.

UYO - Five socio-political groups have come together under the umbrella of AKPF to work together to deliver President Goodluck Johnathan and Gov Godswill Akpabio in the forthcoming presidential and
State Governorship elections in 2011.
This was disclosed in Uyo by the International Co-ordinator of AKPF, Bishop (Hon) Samuel Akpan in his imposing office in Abak Road Uyo, during a meeting with AKPF co-ordinators early in the week. Bishop
Akpan asserted that AKPF is poised to do it again this time around to deliver the duo of President Goodluck Johnathan and Governor Godswill Akpabio. It should be recalled that AKPF was the election engine
room that brought Gov Akpabio to power in 2007 as the governor of Akwa Ibom State.

At a recent handover ceremony of the campaign office held at 201 Abak road, the chairman of Presidential campaign committee, Alhaji Senyu Dahallu commended the gesture and
stated that of all the campaign offices of Mr Prresident across the country, non could be compared to the one in Akwa Ibom State. Dahallu said, the gesture was a sure indication
that Akwa ibom State is the number one support base of Mr. President. Gov. Akpabio who was also at the occassion urged the president's campaign manager to prevail on the
