Mandelanism - A New African Religion? by Nobody: 3:05am On Dec 06, 2013
Is it time to ditch Jesus and Muhammed and adopt MANDELANISM as the new African religion?

It's main tenets - love, freedom, forgiveness, humility, selflessness, compassion.

I see the passing of the great man as the perfect opportunity to create a new African philosophical/spiritual belief system based on his humanist principles.

You forgot one tenet - compromise. Im joking o....i'm just channeling thoth cheesy

Seriously, the philosophy/spiritual belief you talked about is greater than any one man. It was here before Mandela and will be here when we are all gone. No need to reinvent the wheel.

That is not a joke. It is actually true. Compromise is a huge part of Madiba's legacy. I just stepped out of a cab in Johannesburg this morning and the cabbie, while eulogizing Madiba, spoke at length about how many black people in SA feel that his Compromise was more advantageous and favorable to the white minority; and that for this reason, many white people are even more grateful to the Madiba. I did not say much, I just asked him if he would have preferred a Robert-Mugabe treatment for the whites, post-apartheid. He said yes: but was gracious enough to admit that that would have destroyed South Africa.

Madiba's legend grew truly into the stars with his approach to post-apartheid forgiveness, and integration, and this started with Compromise.

seriously, thats how i feel about this thread. for God's sake leave your thoughts in that small brain of yours. i'm even tired of these mods sef. as long as its something that will spite Jesus, they dont waste time putting it on the front page. Its clear the mods dont even make sense of a thread before giving it much importance.

Stop the madness!!

That's going to be a new form of slavery because we'll need to compromise. grin

Great man but you can't create an ideology where there's non.

Mandela was Booker T. Washington and also somewhat of MLK (because of integrationism) of Afrika.

However, there's no spiritual connection in what he represented/represents.

Yeah, let's celebrate him. But that's where he should end.

At a time when religions are deviating from their major tenets, it won't be a bad idea. If people can posses a third of the qualities of mandela then the world will be a better place. The most important principle that i can take out from his life is forgiveness and compassion.

No one will be saved in the name of Mandela.
Mandela is not the only one that fought for the freedom his poeple.
martin Luther king did the same.
Christ came to save the world and to save us (including mandela) from our sins.
Jesus is the savior of the whole world.
