Is Saying ''wats Up'' A Sign Of Disrespect? by Nobody: 4:17pm On Dec 07, 2013
So a frnd of mine told me this nd i felt like sharing it with u guys to know ur opinions. It goes thus

She went to a friend's place (her frnd is a boy actually) nd met a guy dere nd her frnd was introducing him to her buh she wasnt really paying attention so she tot he said he is a frnd, xo she said wats up to d guy and went in.

Then the next day, her frnd called her to tell her dat the guy which she didnt know was his elder brother (according to her, the guy looked like he was in the same age grade with them) said she is disrespectful cos she said wats up to him. When she finished telling me, i was like srzly? Cos i say wats up to people most of the time nd dey dnt get offended or sumfin........so my question goes thus. is telling someone 'wats up' an insult when addre￴ssing them?

It depends na...if it's ur age mate u can say "wat's up", but if it's a much older guy/girl or elderly, then it's not appropriate. besides in this situation, she just met the guy...so she could have said "hello or hi" for a start. #Just Saying
